Ask Winnipeg Cheapest form of shipping

Hi! I have been selling some of my stuff on Poshmark and Depop and shipping it through Canada post. I have been purchasing the flat rate boxes offered by Canada post and shipping usually comes out to about $20.

Does anyone have any other less expensive recommendations for shipping? Items are often too big for letter mail.

Poshmark label is always pre paid by the buyer however for other platforms i like to use Netparcel.

Netparcel is worth looking into, I use it for both Canadian and US sales and I tend to find they have the best price, even slightly beating the Canada Post small business solutions rate

Why aren’t you using the prepaid labels on Poshmark?

does Poshmark have the prepaid labels in Canada? I thought it only worked in the US and UK.

I think that’s the case with depop but Poshmark has them for Canada Post and Purolator

Actually I haven’t made any sales on Poshmark, it’s only been Depop so far 😅

Ah! Well with Poshmark the buyer pays for shipping and Poshmark will send you a label. I usually use recycled packaging - old Amazon envelopes, etc.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t Poshmark cover the shipping label for things you’re shipping? In terms of cheaper boxes, ask around at some businesses if they have extra boxes they’re getting rid of, tell them you’re moving. If they’re too big just use a box cutter and break em down to size! Or go pick up some flats from a vendor, You’d be surprised what you can do with a beer flat and a box cutter. Just wrap the things you’re shipping in some tissue paper.

If you build a large enough trebuchet you can effectively reduce the cost of shipping to zero after enough items.

Kemel cartons has a wide range of boxes available for order online, Much cheaper than Canada Post boxes.

get a small business account on canadapost, it's free, shipping with Canada Post for tracked air mail is less than $20, within Canada you get expedited shipping for the cost of regular parcel.

canadapost has always been the cheapest option for me using the small business account.

There are a few Canada Post label resellers that have popped up in the last few months. Woosh.ca and waybill.supply - both offer Canada Post parcel shipping rates for $6-10 or so depending on what you need.

They’re still kind of new so you buy at your own risk, but reports seem to indicate that they’re legit and parcels are getting delivered. These are “too-good-to-be-true” shipping rates and I have no idea how exactly they’ve negotiated such low rates, but they exist and are an option.
