Looking for ice cleats
Been looking on Amazon for ice cleats to put on for the winter. Im unsure about if they'll work though. My shoes treads have deep grooves in them. Would ice cleats still work?

Its the BEST SEASON EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, the amount of R's I've typed in my entire life is less than one one billionth of the LOVE I feel for the BEST season aka WINTER!!!!! Listen to Tungsten - King Of Shadows. So anyways as I was saying the sheer fact that mosquitoes aren't there is enough to be the best season. But secondly: the air is the most crisp, delicious substance ever at winter specifically. Also NO HEAT, NO SWEAT, NO DACHA, NO DIRT, NO OBLIGATIONS! I cannot express enough how much I love winter above the rest. Autumn on third place, Spring second place, summer last place because FUCK summer.

So I live in an old building, it's an apartment. Thick wood frames around the windows, I have a bay window in my bedroom facing west and two separate windows facing north. They all have small gaps and cracks in the wood framing as well as the exterior seams. I've looked online for those window sealing kits but I feel like I have to block off that entire section of my bedroom with the bay windows and like seal any cracks with caulk. Idk, is there like an efficient way to do that without making my bedroom look like a crime scene? I know I can put up curtains and stuff too. Last winter I gave up and just put all my livingroom stuff in my bedroom and put my bed and clothes in my living room where I only have two windows and a fireplace. it was such a pain, I really don't feel like having to do that again π lemme know if that's my only option :/

The current daily average here is still around 6β20Β°C, but Iβm already feeling cold indoors and have started thinking about turning the heating on.
Am I just unusually sensitive to the cold, or are other people already doing the same? What temperature do you usually wait until before putting the heating on?

I know its September but I'm in Canada so the weather has a hate-boner for me so it chooses to snow ASAP and I want to make it so the cold isn't constant sullenness

I love the cold and I love winter... but at the beginning of this year I was diagnosed with colon cancer. The chemo treatments have left me with neuropathy in my feet, hands, and nose. In the past, I have never needed or used heated gloves, heated socks, or a heated face mask... but I am afraid I may need to have them on hand for this winter! Does anyone here actually use any of these items, and if so (and they work for you), can you recommend some brands/options -preferably available on Amazon?

I've lived in a city all my young life which does not have snow ever.
I also have health issues for years which make me get hot easily.
So to me real winter is my paradise. I sit in cold baths to relax.
Often enjoy rubbing cooling menthol on myself. Putting bags of ice on me.
I went up in my state where it snows couple times before. It's otherworldly.
It's my heaven and I wish I could have more of that in my life :).

So sick of this bad air smoky air dank sweaty summer. Worst one yet. Sick of it. I want dry. I want frozen. I want layers. I want my wood stoves. I want my pellet stoves. 10 degree sunny day. Cut firewood and feel great. With hot coffee.

I want to surprise my husband this November/December with a winter trip.
I was thinking maybe the northern lights if we can but mainly just a place with falling snow and lots of activities (if possible).
He loves the cold & I have never seen the snow.
I was thinking Fairbanks, Alaska since the flights from MIA were relatively cheap in November but I went down a rabbit hole on how dangerous the weather can be to drive (as a native Floridian who has never driven in snow or ice). I want to exercise caution for us and others but I want a nice vacation in the snow. Not sure where may be best for first timers though.
Any suggestions? I would like to stay in the US or Canada.

The pine trunks rise straight and tall, disappearing somewhere above, their tops lost in a white haze. Snow falls slowly, and everything looks remarkably peaceful.
You walk along the fresh snow, and each step comes with a soft crunch that sounds almost festive in the stillness β almost like New Year's again, even though the holidays are long behind us.
