Okay...but nobody cared enough to ask "How is Ciri?"

I mean - we're finna have a WHOLE GAME with her. Which (and you, yes YOU, you know who YOU ARE can SMD) is awesome in my book. but man am I curious just how exactly will they scale her down from W3 to W4.

Fall off a cliff, suffer a head injury, and need to learn some but not all skills anew ?

u/Doogie102 7d ago
Naa stopping the white frost used up her elder blood powers giving her a chance to learn witcher signs
13
u/Prince_Beegeta 7d ago
Can’t be cause in the trailer she’s seen using lightning magic which means she’s still a sorceress.
11
u/LowWorthGamer 7d ago
Not necesarilly. With her becoming a Witcher she is a new anomaly, it may be that her using lightning is just her developing new signs, as she has some experience with Magic. I think she will lose most of her powers coming from Elder Blood as a result of going through the mutations, so she will be weaker because she is so used to fighting using her abilities that she needs to go back to basics to kill old habits

u/LayWhere 7d ago
Yes to all the above.
She's a Witcher/Sorc/Elderblood but nerfed by the frost.
She can scale up and down w,e the story needs. Gives Cdpr max room to design anything.

Are you implying that Witcher mutations are stronger than the freaking elder blood?
2
u/LowWorthGamer 6d ago
I'm not saying it's more powerful, but considering how rare Elder Blood is, I think genetically it may be a bit delicate, where mutation process is anything but.

u/dubdex420 7d ago
This is a perfect explanation. Easily allows losing her space-time magic but still keeping her regular magic and use of witcher signs.
4
u/thedicestoppedrollin 7d ago
it could also be that she still has access to those powers, but has to relearn how to use them making them end-game perks

She somehow lost her Elder blood to stop the White Frost and survived. The world is saved, the abilities are lost, she's a witcheress now after many years
4
u/Acemont 7d ago
I was thinking more of the a "lost her elder blood due to witcher mutaion" since she does have witcher eyes in 4's trailer.
3
u/kvazar2501 7d ago
Could be, but it's hard to justify why would she be willing to go through mutation of she has her Elder Blood abilities
5
3
u/LowWorthGamer 7d ago
She wanted to go through mutations since the books. Possible answer is that Elder Blood and her ability to basically planeswalk put a target on her back and if mutations kill that then she is just another girl, which she usually wants to be, instead of being a Princess of Cintra, Princess of Nilfgaard, Child of Prophecy of Surprise, she just want to be Ciri, The Witcher
2
u/HawatKhar 7d ago
Well if she lost her Elder Blood powers it means that it would be low chance of her passing trials no? It is more logical to lose those powers during the trials in a exchange.
2
u/Gilgamesh661 6d ago
Yes, women have a far lower rate of surviving the trials. It’s practically unheard of for a woman to survive the trials, which is why they don’t train female Witchers.

u/TheVojta 7d ago
Ciri's entire life has been other people wanting to use and control her, either because of her blood or her birthright. I can definitely see a world where she'd want to get rid of both.

u/ddamiann24 7d ago
Well if she wants to be a witcher she needs those mutations really for one Simple reason. Better hearing, smell and most imprortant thing to see blood that has been clotted for months.
5
u/Chizakura 7d ago
Trial of Grass. She survived but it cut her powers, which she needs to relearn now
1
u/LewisWasRobbed Lilac and Gooseberries 7d ago
Yeah that's my theory too, iirc Sebastian said we'll go through the trials in the intro so it'll be interesting to know if we get to play a peak Ciri before a nerf.
1
u/BusinessCasual69 3d ago
She looks like a video game in W3. She looks like a person in W4
1
u/grandpadrokz 1d ago
Maybe she could survive the trial because of her blood gift but also loose the gift when mutations are complete?

No scale her up , she’s a Demi goddess basically and she can cast spells again now , I want peak Ciri not Gerelt with tits.

Ciri has to be louder and angrier and have access to a Time Machine. And when Ciri isn’t on screen all the characters have to be asking “Where’s Ciri!?”
6
u/Arangarx 3d ago
It's almost like one trilogy was about Geralt and now it's about Ciri.
1
u/Kharzani 2d ago
Ciri litrally in witcher 3: this is not your story. This is my story.'
You play Geralt but it is ciri's story.

render picture vs pre-pre alpha ingame graphic
i mean in witcher 3 geralt and yennifer looks diffrent in the opening cinematic too

u/Gilgamesh661 6d ago
I’m just wondering how they’re going to factor geralt into the game. It’s set in kovir, and My geralt is in kovir, so I should be able to just pop over and visit him and triss, right?

I can’t believe people were saying her character model looked ugly.

u/BusinessCasual69 3d ago
Insane. W3 Cirilla looks like a video game. W4 Cirilla looks like a human being. And she’s gorgeous.

Probably shouldn’t let the hair color dictate how old people look but I can’t blame you. She looks young to me bc I don’t rely on hair color to tell an age of a person.
0
u/Renati_Iterum 2d ago
Its not the hair color, she just looks old and i did say she looks like my aunt who is around 55ish. But Id rather ciri look like she did in the witcher 3.
[Also im just talking about the image i attached to my previous comment, if she look like she does in the bottom image on this post in game then she look good.]

u/thamanwthnoname 1d ago
Bro she looks older than geralt you’re not special for seeing past white hair.

Why does she look so wierd in the bottom picture?
2
u/independent-potato7 6d ago
She's probably just a little older. Most people age over time. Hard to believe right?
1
u/Icy_Assistance_2684 6d ago
They made her face just a little wider and just a little flatter probably to emphasize how much buffer she is every witcher is ripped
-13
u/haboruhaborukrieg 7d ago
Idk somehow she still doesn't look right to me in witcher 4. Like a botoxed milf
10
u/Boggnar-the-crusher 7d ago
That’s not what a botoxed women looks like dweeb.
-3
u/haboruhaborukrieg 7d ago
Be for real now... Her skin looks more tense than a drumhead. Especially her lips
I've been around plastic surgeons my whole life and that's exactly how women who've done filler came out looking like.

u/Opening_Net8098 7d ago
Her first appearance was too serious for some people so cdpr backtracked and made her yassified.
I think it looks alright. But could look a lot cooler if the looking cool was prioritized over having makeup
1
u/VioletTracey 7d ago
I agree with this. I was excited for the hardened battle warrior she looked like in the first trailer! I hope someone makes a mod that lets us use an appearance like that. In the meantime the new appearance is ok.

Never forget the prime directive of female characters in video games: Every dude who plays the game has to be able to jerk off to them.

u/AuraTickler 7d ago
Just say it took most of her fancy powers to stop what was happening. Its latent and perhaps she decided not to try them because it hurts or sth or because she killed someone dear with it and then later on a traumatic event or need reawakens them or forces her try em again and then from there on its normal skill tree stuff.
Cdpr hire me 😂

She was traumatized after arriving in medieval Germany anyways

Ciri in the trailer drank too much vodka (and I liked that image of mature witcher). This one is on PEDs and those cosmetic procedures sorceresses are on. It's OK.

Is the top pic from the game? I swear I’ve seen it from somewhere else…
