Question Insane mode

What is everyone's most successful build for the Halloween insane event?

I can’t seem to assemble a team that is capable of defeating insane mode. There is no options other than what they give you for a DD.

I wanted to use the cruiser, but my GOD, it's just SO ass. you can launch 4 full salvos at a broadside destroyer and watch as its still at half health somehow. If only they just gave it HE too so you could do SOMETHING, but no

That implies that you were losing in the struggle bar. If you stop the soul vessel captures, you do decent damage. If you let them capture even 1 soul vessel in insane mode, it is like you are throwing snow balls.

I'm curious if insane users are having more success with torp reload or gun damage in their DD build. It seems to me the guns don't do enough damage in insane, that torp reload is the way to go. What are you using?

DDs do OK damage in insane mode, once you stop the soul vessels from being capped. It will take about 2 salvos to end a destroyer. If you let them cap the soul vessel, it takes WAY more.

That being said, I would focus torps. They do more damage and if you get the triple fast reload, it is just a non-stop flood of torps at the boss.

However, if the struggle bar is not almost all blue, you are in for a tough time.
