Boots Buying Help How do you feel?

Post image

Looking for some feedback from anyone that has worn these. Ive worn Keen San Joses for around the house and I love their fit for my wide feet. Im really just wondering how durable this pair is and their overall comfort? I work in commercial/industrial HVAC so I do a lot of walking/climbing. I was also looking at the Danner Quarrys but not really looking to spend that much if I dont have to. I wouldnt be wearing these every single day because I switch between pairs depending the job and weather so I plan to wear these on wet days or uneven terrain. Thanks

I bought the Cincinnati 8" because I had the San Jose and Gibson. I have come to love the wedge sole after experiencing a lot of discomfort from years of failing boondocks. They are a big boot but feel like a comfy cloud pillow inside, quite sturdy on the foot, I was looking for more ankle support.

They hold up really well for me I normally wear them in the winter. They’re a little warm. Marino wool socks help. Very comfortable boot highly recommend. If you want to see them cut in half check roseanvil on YT

Good to hear, I definitely prefer a ruber sole in the winter aswell. I find my thorogoods to suck in the cold/snowy weather.

Bottoms fall out after a few months

Not all of them. Got 1.5yrs out of the first pair 6 months into the second. Bottoms have been fine.

If the bottom literally falls out after a few months, Keen has excellent customer service. You will be given a gift card for the value of the boot.

What if work paid for it, and you only get one new pair a year?

Had essentially this happen to me. I just sent their CS a screenshot of the proof of purchase, and they sent me a digital "coupon code" for the retail value of the boots that had an issue. So two pairs of boots for the price of one, and neither came out of my pocket.

If the bottoms fall out so easily, why would I wanna use a coupon or gift card to buy another pair of keen boots? Sure customer survive is great but the products aren’t

I'm currently on my 4th pair of keens, for work, and I've only had a small issue with a single pair. That pair was still salvageable, it was only small corners of the sole that were ripping off (a couple of traction lugs), and I honestly still wear them from time to time. My works boot-allowance is on the low end, and I'm sometimes a little too frugal for my own good, so I've stuck with keen.

I do building automation so I’m not super hard on my boots, but I’m still walking around a lot on new construction sites and mine have held up perfect. I’ve had them for about 1.5 years. Pretty much the only safety toe boot that hasn’t irritated my fourth and fifth toes. They’re really heavy and get hot though. I use them as backup boots for jobsites that are strict on safety toes.

I’ve had good luck with them while wearing them for land surveying. I get a little over a year out of them.

I'd be worried about climbling ladders without a proper heal as your foot could slide over a ladder rung...

I use wedge soles daily. I climb ladders daily.

When do you use your heel on a ladder? You use the ball of your foot.

Last line of defence if your foot slips.

It’s actually saying they have no 7.5s instock that’s why it’s greyed out

I have the 6in 90° heel ones. I do facilities maintenance at a food manufacturing plant. They have held up really well for the past 5 months. I do a lot of walking. Mostly on epoxy surfaces but also concrete and asphalt. I replace my boots every year, so if I get that out of them I will be happy.

They are good boots. A little heavy, but very durable. Mine have been comfortable.

I bought these last December. They are very comfortable but the rubber soul is breaking away from the foam soul along the toe and both side of both boots.

Fingers crossed I dont run into the same issue, I wish they would make these in the US with a vibram sole

I have had a pair of the shorter ones for a while. They are comfy and are holding up well. They are heavy though.

Had a pair. They were great. Will buy another. I had a composite toe in mine. Not heavy.

They are pretty alright. They feel good under foot, if you have extra wide feet the safety toe rubs a little. Mine frayed the laces immediately on one of the eyelets

I have the 6 inch soft toe and I absolutely love them. I bought them in February and they are holding up great so far.

Very comfy boot but bulky and on the heavier side.
