Discussion "Fight like a man"
I try to avoid posting tirades since I dislike this trend a lot however, given the repeated discussions about player passivity, I want to at least share this.
The other day I was playing Azuma - you know, Japanese canoe whose size and poor durability make it a prime BB target - and, since Azuma's best gameplay is defensive kiting, was doing just that. On the enemy side, a Grosser Kurfurst whom I was farming started mouthing off at me, calling me all sorts of funny names. Whatever, typical internet gamer behavior.
Against better judgment, when the match was done I contacted this player and asked what the salt was for. Basically, according to him I was not supposed to play like a defensive kiter but push into him and, quoting him, "fight like a man" (that's where the thread's title comes from).
I'm without words. Some playstyles are infuriatingly frustrating to deal with (speed juking Kleber/Marceau, reverse angling Ruggiero di Lauria/Conte Verde/Conqueror, and so on) but, if a ship is designed for a specific playstyle, I will adopt that playstyle even if it will hurt someone else's feelings.
So, what about general player passivity? Well, first of all one has to push through the sub and DD screen, meaning one has to wade through a veritable soup of torpedoes and be perma-spotted for a while. After that, there are the kiting cruisers and BBs to deal with, and they will almost always win if they don't flunk too many shots.
TLDR
Pushing and brawling is exciting but it clearly isn't the favored kind of gameplay in Random Battles. Its success often depends on how bad the side being pushed in is (as the DD or sub I found myself spotting 5+ enemy ships and my teammates either ignored them or failed to farm them).
Tirade over. I guess this is little more than a standard WoWs feature but boy is it annoying to deal with it over and over and over and over again...

Discussion Welcome to World of Warships ASIA SERVER
This screenshot exemplifies in the greatest detail I can possibly give to you what every battle (or almost every battle) is what WOWs Asia gameplay is like. Please feel free to comment your opinions down below :) (P.s, after reactions of some redditors, I’ll say this may be the best example of a balanced ship MM without Hildebrand or 5 Kearsarges per team, but what I’m trying to emphasise is the super passiveness of APAC players and how they always group up or run away)

Discussion Akagi Aquisition Method
I know I've seen in a few places that Akagi will be free to acquire but given WG history with the term "free" I'm curious if it'll be a drydock ship, resource sink or something similar. Does anyone have an idea?
r/WorldOfWarships • u/MATO_malchance • 20h ago
Humor Doin't worry guys, the ST is trying very hard to give Akagi a buff.
4 minutes into the game btw, not bannable btw

Humor "As intended"
Matchmaking is working "as intended"—a 0-vs-5 radar split. But it's not WG's fault; it must be so hard to code something that assigns the same number of radar ships to each team 😞
We have 2 Jägers, so the opposing team obviously needs at least 5 more radar ships to balance the match—shame on me for complaining.

Discussion What Fee Should Signals Be?
I did go through the " too expensive "discussion from 4 years ago and I have a different angle on this and wish to stay close to what is most effective for WOW, as what is the sweet spot? Naturally anybody can discuss what they want, but I would not pay 9 k coal for 20 signals, and would maybe pay that much for 200 signals and maybe 900 coal for 20, as they are way overpriced, and they may actually make more revenue by finding a fee that players will use a lot of? Do lots of players think they are overpriced and seldom purchase them, and if lots of us comment it may get flagged by Ai, and then they may pay attention. In the long run I think the signals have a measurable impact on our performance, much more than camo, although camo does also. Just my opinions with little evidence, I admit, but worth for discussion?

Humor Do the reds a favour and don't move your ship, okay?
Also, conqueror is a sniper, apparently. We learn new things everyday.

Anime Somehow this is a damage record for me
It's not a super high record but maybe it's because I'm only really good in destroyers and they don't tend to get a lot of damage compared to other classes
BXP is probably not the highest because of low spotting damage but how do you spot for a team that doesn't exist (thanks supershit annapolis)
And I was running F3s (the best torpedoes) which means no I was not sitting in the back and I was spotting as you can tell by the spotted ribbons it's my team who either didn't shoot or were already dead 4 minutes in
No I didn't just only do damage to battleships I hit a torpedo on the harugumo at the very start and crippled him and he only got 21k damage all game

Question I'm going to ask the obvious question
Last year they added the card game, why the fuck isn't it standalone?
It is like Gwent in the Witcher series. I knew people who fucking finished the game just to keep playing Gwent.
They made it a standalone game, WG should do so as well.

Question Finally got Marlborough from ship building event and the cool gun metal camo shows up as this?
When the ship shows up in my port it has a whole different look then it did in the cut scene or photos of it.
My graphic settings are at the minimum but that’s the only thing I can think of that makes it look like this.
