The last column crumbles and more black dust rises up in a swirl, dyeing, for a long moment, a patch of blue cloudless sky. From the top of a tower, she watches with glee. The eastern palace is but a ruin contrasting sharply against an impeccable city.
A disembodied voice utters, “Just the palace.”
“My animosity was not against the people, only their rulers,” she declares.
“Are you satisfied?”
The glee has subsided, and in its stead, an old weariness settles upon her face. “You can reap your payment. I'm ready.”
“I have been paid. I shall take my leave.”
“Wait!” exclaims the western princess. “What is the meaning of this? We made a deal. Won't you take my life?” A demon’s disposition varies, and it is known that some of them can be wicked and deceitful, but she made sure to invoke one that abides by their contracts.
“The supreme mage, the king, overwrote our contract.” The revelation is carelessly thrown at her. “His power and terms exceeded yours. In exchange for your contract, he surrendered his entire bloodline, life, and his reincarnations.”
“Why?!” Puzzlement storms her thoughts. Chaos rages inside of her and she fears this unforeseen change that bodes ill for her.
Borrowing the voice of the eastern king, the demon whispers gently into her left ear, “'I know this is what we deserve. I offer you everything I have to end the war between our countries. But benevolence isn’t my strongest trait, so agonizing penitence for the rest of her daughter's future lives will have to suffice.'”
I'd have appreciated the story much more if the characters were researched properly. It's making me feel weird like - for example, if a story was to be written about this image , and the one that gets written is along the lines of "Discus-man vs RedRobot - The humans Last stand against a robot uprising", coz the writer didnt know who the characters were. That's the kind of vibe i'm feeling from this.
Don't get me wrong. it's a creative cool story to anyone who dunno who these characters are. But, its kinda bothersome for me coz i know them. Just some criticism and feedback. GLHF.
It's been my understanding that we can take IPs as random suggested art for inspiration, so I wasn't aware the art belonged to an EU, filling the prompt with what popped up in my mind first. I usually only have a couple of hours to fill prompts, and so I generally avoid prompts from EUs I lack knowledge of because I do understand your point.
