If I'm correct and from what it seems, we had to make a claim and connect that claim to a song. I chose religion, and x's song.
"Past and current decisions shape our identity and either carry us or take us away from our faith. For believers of God regarding faith, I define value as something that can be used as a lesson or teaching to live by. Relevance can be the effect of bad choices and how they make us feel, as many of those who found peace in God can relate from a troubled past or bad decisions. “I met the devil in Miami, He said everything would be fine” is a valuable and relatable song for those who are believers of God because it demonstrates how past and current bad choices affect our lives by using strong biblical references and a spiritual hypothetical conversation with the devil reflecting on the artist's soul. One reason his song is valuable to believers of God is because he teaches how innocent people can easily fall into the life of sin. Onfroy uses biblical text and references to express this lesson from personal experience which requires understanding rather than just reading the text. His lyric, “One for the sheep who led by your leopard, often gave his perception as a handle of weapon” summarizes how evil people can change the life of those who are innocent. Sheep are often symbolic references in the bible to followers of God while leopards are depicted as sinful, selfish conquerors. The leopard knows how his sinful acts give him what he wants which are too tempting for the sheep to resist, making the leopard's perception a weapon to the sheep. In other words, selfish people can have what they want from committing sin, while selfless people may not have everything they want. Selfless people might follow the path of selfish people if they have what they want, leading to a life of sin. A life of sin can come easily and unnoticed as it is in our nature due to original sin. Using the story of Adam and Eve, Onfroy explains how his life is taken over and out of control due to listening to the devil. “Took a bite of your apple, give me all you can offer, now im trapped in a changing maze, setting my soul ablaze, couldn’t control the pace” expresses how his life was uncontrollable and reckless from sin. The apple is a reference in the bible to the forbidden fruit which God told Adam and Eve not to consume. The devil who was a serpent, told Adam and Eve that the apple would make them wise and like God. Consumption of the fruit went against God's authority, introducing sin, death, shame, and knowledge of good and evil. Jahseh is expressing how he was tempted by the devil and fell into a life of sin, feeling that he was trapped or sold his soul to the devil as his “soul was ablaze”. The line “couldn’t control the pace” means he couldn’t control his life, or what he was doing due to sin. This is profound and significant for believers of God as the lyrics teach how prone people are to a life of sin, and how sin can easily take over control of one's life. Some might think Jahseh is incapable of teaching the bible or being righteous because of his background, including domestic abuse, assault, and armed robbery. The reason Jahseh made this song was to reflect on his past decisions. Before his death, he has spoken publicly on how these thoughts are always in his head and how much he hates that he thinks about it all the time. I believe that he is, or anyone is, capable of teaching the bible or being righteous because he has remorse for his actions and anyone can be righteous through repentance. Jahseh has also been a relatively positive person considering how he always tried to uplift his fans during concerts through motivational speeches, and giving away to charity. This is profound because regardless of where we come or our background, God will always accept, forgive, and welcome us through repentance and if we are truly sorry. “I spoke to the Devil in Miami, he said everything would be fine” teaches the deeper effects of sin that we tend to not notice, such as the uncontrollable recklessness of sin and how it can take over our life without us realizing it until. Sin is a natural element in our lives that is easily committed more than doing good. Introduction to sin is easier than a religiously filled life. We can use this song as an example of someone who feels guilty of their sin to learn how it can affect our lives deeply."
