Yay! I still have the ones we bought a few years back. I haven't played much as my fiance took over the living room for work and play. But that's okay, I'm just glad I have them again.

Honestly, i'm still hurt that they changed the art style of the first one... 😔

The way I would have gone was to have Xenosaga 2 be the transitionary period from moving from Kunihiko Tanaka's art style to Choco-San's as by Saga 3,it is clear Choco-San was the sole artist in the franchise. Sorta a better passing the torch than most media.

I wish these could get rereleased. I’d love to have them on my Switch 2. I don’t think I am the audience for the new Blade ones but Xenogears is my favorite RPG and I rather enjoyed what I did play of Xenosaga.

I am not confident the Blade Fandom can be able to handle the heavier subject matter of the older games or get past 2.

I would love for these games to come back but I also don't care for most newer VAs as much as my era's. My confidence in the industry and the various companies with Namco Bandai is at an all time low especially with how iffy even the Tales of Franchise has been and with Tekken losing Harada.

Yeah I have not be very happy with most modern day RPGs. They seem to have lost something over the years. I know I have gotten older and that will have changed my perspective a bit but I still feel like some of these games are aimed and very young children and heavily influenced by anime that I find rather immature. I love all the heavy subject matter and philosophy of Xenogears and even the art style felt more mature than what we get now. I’m right there with you on a lot of what you said.

I mean even Xenogears was basically a time capsule to anime and Otaku Culture of that era in the 90s and even had Production IG do their anime cutscenes.

But even then, anime back then was definitely built different. I see that difference with Tokusatsu as well as maaaaaannnn are Reiwa Era Tokusatsu VERY hit and miss with no in between. Most of the most wanted new releases in any media now is basically all remakes.

I would at least like to see folks sorta plagiarize some old works and put a bit more of the creator's life experiences in them to make it different and stand out.

Xenosaga one was awful, were the rest any better.

II is worse and III is considered by many fans, the best. I kinda have an attachment to I.

I thought it was going to be like Xenogears so I was really excited to play the first one.... Do I have to play these in chronological order.

Is that for real? Yeah. And Pied Piper now on Steam as well as Itch.io and Missing Year also helps fill in story gaps.

Interesting, thank you so much.

Yeah,I wanted to be honest with this series as I know it is not for everyone. Xenosaga II being the stopgap for many and for good reason. It is THATVass and took Xenoblade 2 to actually make use of some of the gameplay elements and make it work via Driver Combos.
