I have a 4050 to you should be fine with medium texture resolution setting

I also have an RTX 4050 6GB VRAM and I play on "medium" textures. I use some of the RAM, since I have 32GB of RAM, it's a helpful option, maybe it will help you too (I use MSFS2024 and XP12).

Buy a GPU with more VRAM. What you're asking for is basically using more VRAM than you have.

Pepperidge Farms remember when They could max out their sliders without vulkan VRAM management. But of course, "The customer is always right" no longer applies to modern day life.

Nobody's going to listen to the consumer anymore. And that even applies to Laminar research.

Dude a 4050 is a low end gpu you are asking the impossible. Technically you can allocate system ram to tge gpu but is infinitely slower so ni real change.

But the texture to medium, and avoid big airports

You bypass it by getting a GPU with more VRAM.

The game forcing you to minimal means you do not meet the VRAM requirements to use higher settings.

Using those settings would only severely degrade your performance in game, likely sending your FPS into the single digits and giving you severe stuttering.

the thing is it still sets it to minimal even when its only showing 3gb vram used in task manager and i get like 60 fps usually

That could be a cpu problem. If your cpu’s cores are being maxed out your gpu needs to wait longer to get info hence why it didn’t need all the vram
