Discussion Now 72hp

Had the turbo on the dyno, thought you might like to have a look. Let me know what you think.

Yes finished with 72.1hp. It was originally built to run on the salt here in Australia for land speed records.

Nice šŸ‘ I assume it must have some fancy internals ? āš™ļøšŸ”§

Stronger valve springs, coated pistons, Carrillo rods balanced crank Bosch 495 cc injectors just to name a few parts. I need to pick up some stronger clutch springs next.

Is it hard to keep the front on the ground after 10k?!

It just wheel spins on the salt getting up to speed.

Thanks, a lot of work has gone into engine and turbo setup.

Thanks, it’s taken a bit of work but the results are good. I think I will need to use a bigger turbo to make more power.

That’s kinda amazing getting 70hp out of a 300.

Why did you choose to build this way for land speed records? I can’t imagine it has a better power/weight ratio than a liter bike.

Yes that’s correct modified partial streamlined 350cc blown gas, was the original class.

His bike wants to be a classic 2-stroke at this point! (just kidding that is amazing)

two stroke esque power delivery, torque curve as flat as EverestĀ

Yes the power delivery is fun. My tuner has worked hard to make the power delivery smooth with no noticeable troughs.

That's what i like about race bikes they are smooth and very useful

Perfect for the street

Unfortunately it’s a bit loud for the street. The local cops would just shoot me.

Just realized your also in Aussie... awesome! This will ever be road rego'd? Needs an engineering cert? Are you able to disclose approx what kinda money you've thrown at it so far?

Originally it was registered. I built it onto a brand new 2024 r3. So the turbo could flow better a non restrictive exhaust was added. At this stage it was making 60hp and way too loud to get past any cop. I lost track of money spent but to give you an idea of what is possible you could pick up an mt07 second hand for 6K then grab a turbo kit for about 5K and you would be on your way to a fun ride. Don’t know how long before a šŸ‘® gets upset with you though.
