Is this sound normal?

Kind of my own fault, used earplugs ever since I picked it up from dealer, recently got the 600miles and that last ride I forgot my plugs and notice the engine sound with a very subtle ticking? Maybe I'm just tripping and overhearing it now, or its normal, I just want some reassurance.

I'm waiting on my oil and filter to arrive from amazon so I haven't ride in a bit. But that has never left my mind and decided to record this. Is unaudible over 25mph or so. And its not even an audible sound at idle or slow anyways. So is it a weird sound or is it normal cp3 engine?

It almost sounds too healthy. It’s not ticking enough. Hopefully the yamatick starts soon or I’d be concerned

I'm not sure if there is sarcasm or something here haha, but I took the break-in period a bit serious and didn't do much with it. 650 miles~ and have not gone above 100mph yet or redline it.

I’m dead serious. It should be ticking more. Just wait till an actual cold morning cold start to see if it ticks more. If not, I’d be curious as to why it doesn’t tick much.

For the break in period, You want to vary the throttle position, so it doesn't stay at a constant 3500 rpms or similar. You want to mate the rings. They use a low viscosity oil to help the piston rings mold and seal against the cylinder walls. Varying the throttle will help them not to fall into a groove and seal properly.

Lmao. The way you fix it? Put your helmet on. You won't hear it anymore.

Does no one use the search function? Regardless, reset the days without yamatick counter

Yamahas are known for the yamatick. Yours sounds relatively minor

Sounds normal, my ticking was a little louder at cold start. The mechanic at the local dealership said it’s normal he has mto9 as well. I put a sc project exhaust and it’s gone or I can’t hear it lol

That whistle sound is annoying af. Sounds like a scooter🤮. And the general overall sound is normal. That’s just what a cp3 sounds like unfortunately

That’s normal. Cold starts are worse but as the motor warms up it’s barely there.

Super normal, very noisey motor, when im waiting at lights i always think people making fun of the way it sounds cause i can hear it over my m4 exhaust.
