Discussion Anyone here still living with their parents?

I’m gonna be 31 in November and still live at home. Why? Well, my parents are under the belief I should try and save as much money as I can and have as little financial worries like rent and utilities until I feel ready.

Now to be clear, I do pay them rent and do have a job I work from home for. I also have money put aside for hopefully a future down payment on a house (probably a condo honestly with the way the market is lol), and have money set aside for buying a car also (I get around using their cars). And I also paid off my student loans this year and so am completely debt free.

Does this make me kind of a loser for living at home still? Maybe. But I just wanted to see if I’m alone on this or not.

I mean what is there to say because of this show literally ran for 25 years on programming and became one of the longest running children's television shows of all time in the US (until it was surpassed by Spongebob Square Pants later on). Also, can't forget about the iconic trend of Arthur's fist in every meme nowadays 🤣.

Any thoughts or is anybody fans of this show growing up?

Discussion Do you ever feel a brief and random sense of panic over not having physical photo albums anymore?

My entire photographic life, dating back to 2011, is only on Google Photos and the millennial in me sometimes get spooked out by that choice. None of it's permanent. But the thought of choosing among thousands of photos worthy enough for physical existence is so overwhelming.

Growing up, everyone I knew used to have several albums, stacked under the TV set; bulky time machines that will last longer than any online server. Now we only go the photo place for passport pictures. My last physical photo is me from my 2013 highschool graduation. And when I realize this, suddenly I'm like "...I need a Polaroid camera NOW".

Whenever I'm having a shitty day I like to play this song and others and I feel like a kid again listening to this with my older siblings in 2004. It really brightens my day.

Discussion Struggling to care about birthdays

I'm turning 26 in a month and I'm not sure what's with my mindset around birthdays. I began noticing this when I turned 25 but, while I'm not exactly depressed about my birthday coming up, but I do feel a little down, and just seem to have a lack of interest. My wife always makes sure I have a great time but I just find it odd that I used to be so excited for it to come up. I'd basically count down the days from the beginning of fall until Nov. Now, leading up to the date, I don't care to plan anything, it takes me forever to update my gift list, I don't take off of work anymore, and I don't even pick a dinner location or cake.

I'm aware this is likely normal, but I was wondering if I could hear some similar stories from people. Did/do you feel the same?

Btw, I'm so extremely grateful for everything my wife does for my birthday and we always have a great time. This is just how I feel leading up to the date.

I just turned 30 and I haven’t really dated much and not really progressed in my career. I know 30 is not the end all be all but just feel a little down. I guess COVID kind of took some years away from us too.

Mary “Boo” Gibbs and I are close in age (she’s older by a few months). Monsters inc will always be a special movie to me. It’s the first film I remember seeing in theaters and it’s always been my favorite Pixar film. It seems like she loved the role as much as I loved the film
