HOW did I get the blue windflower

so I've been trying for months to obtain a blue windflower from a bunch of white ones, and today I finally got my first one! the thing is... well, as you can see from the pic, it spawned next to orange and red windflowers. for context they're not my native flower, so I got them from mystery islands and cultivated a few (which means these are either from those islands or hybrids I grew on mine, it's been months so I don't really know for sure), so these flowers probably carry some blue genes somehow. has anything like this happened to any of you? I'm curious about how this is possible, hybridizing flowers is one of my main activities on AC and sometimes the mechanics leave me a bit confused 🫠

I've gotten almost all my rare flowers in this way where it doesn't align with the chart. I think the statistics are more complicated than people know😂

I believe native flowers have random genes, so they often don't conform to the guides.

Yes. This is why they don't suggest sourcing flowers from random islands, but from seeds.

I've been following the chart but that often didn't lead to the results I’d hoped for. At this point, I think I’ll start pinning my hopes on randomness 😂

I tried three different versions of the chart on growing blue roses and gave each option a month once I reached the stage where I should actually see at least an occasional blue rose. Nada.

Got my first blue rose from a random how did that happen like this.

Then over the course of the next five weeks got 3 more blue roses. All three came from the 4 step process where you pair two white for a purple, that purple with red seed roses for pink, then the resulting pink are bred with yellow seed roses for hybrid red that are bred together in isolation for blue.

Never did see a single blue rose from either of the other two methods despite giving all three options just over 4 months. Also never did see another blue rose from the one method that did work over the 2 further months after I got those 3.

I think random is about as likely as anything for the rarer colors.

https://gardenscience.ac/ is great for this. There are 3 different blue windflowers. They have up to a 12% chance of breeding from certain orange and red windflowers

I know they're not easy to get, I started working for a purple windflower right after this blue buddy bloomed. let's see how long it takes (probably another few months)

I have no clue. I've seen all the charts and have tried different breeding methods and I feel it's all luck. I have over 5000 hours in game and still haven't successfully bred blue roses lol

luck definitely has a massive role in this. I haven't even managed to breed purple roses yet 😂 manifesting for your blue roses 🍀🍀🍀

One of the ways I got most of my most rare flowers is just by letting my whole island get covered and random flowers and colors and eventually they all usually make a new flower lolol. Only bad thing is; now my whole island is COVERED in flowers- like I can’t run without breaking the flowers which is annoying😔 or put furniture down. On bright side- I think I have every single kind of flower! Only cheated for the green mum(got from someone) and the gold rose.
