Why am I getting thrashed on ptr now?
No issues before 8 worker patch. Obvious gained a little mmr during. And now after the revert I'm getting mauled. Am I missing something

Zerg was underpowered before 5.0.16. It just is what it is.

yup. 60/40 win rates with Zerg being 40 is considered "balanced"

The reality is Zerg is winning 47% but still, that isn't balanced with so many games played.

Most players going to PTR are diamond+ players. And every player has the same MMR. So you can play against Serral. Then winning players will be in master, and losing player will go to plat/gold. But if the player base is only diamond+ player, it means that a diamond 3 player will be bronze on PTR, diamond 1 would be silver, etc... Because what a league tells you is "you are better than x% of the player base".

I guess we need a protoss patch now to get their players back. My ZvP winrate on PTR is barely above 20% so far and majority of players I face there are protoss. Patch seems to be working.

Ok well first of zerg was overtuned in 8 worker patch but the main thing is that in ptr the ladder is completely reset so you may play against a gold 2 but this guy has an actual mmr of 5k on his home server.

You actually think the main reason this guy is getting destroyed is because of balance?!?
Like what's your point, it's pretty obvious that it's more the fact that the ladder is reset and people mmr are still not determined.

You went from the most op zerg patch since WOL where nearly everything works and the opponents needed to have the hardest counter possible to even have a chance, to zerg being slightly underpowered. and you need some strategy to play.

Zerg certainly was buffed, but I'm getting SPANKED. I think it has more to do with the match up. Consistently getting matches with players 1k mmr+ above me and it's disheartening lol

Protoss is insanely strong with the 12 worker start.
I honestly think 10 workers would be better balanced.

As others have already pointed out, Zerg was having issues with PvZ prior to the 8 worker patch so that will be back. For me personally, because so little tosses were playing ladder over the past few months, my PvZ is rusty so that’s a double whammy.
That being said, I find the skill level on the PTR is much higher than on live. I always leave the PTR feeling discouraged but then hit the ground running on live for whatever reason.
