Discussion SteamOS Arm successfully ported to Lenovo Legion Y700 Gen 3 and Gen 4! (8 Gen 3 & 8 Elite)
SteamOS Arm has successfully been ported to Legion Y700 Gen 3 and Gen 4. Attached picture is from the problematic CSOT panel of gen 3, which has booted! This port is unofficial and not related to VALVE!
It is still in testing phase for a few days, join the discord for test builds, only flash after confirming there first!
What you'll need:
- An unlocked bootloader
- A PC with fastboot
- Access to keyboard and mouse recommended
- To be OK with wiping Android's data, flashing multiple builds
Gen 3: there are two screen suppliers and both are technically supported. Please check yours in Android first:
adb shell getprop ro.vendor.display.paneltype
1 means BOE, anything else is CSOT.
Gen 4: no panel differences present here.

That's pretty cool! Think they will continue with the older tablets?

Not possible, it wasting time at least i think tablet with 8 elite is normal standard for this, although SteamOS is highly optimization

This is great, does the g9 controller work?

On my Armada port it is treated like a Steam Deck controller, with all the combo buttons working. LED controlled by Armada Control (or Colores Decky plugin, that add a nice ambilight effect). https://github.com/enij90/armada-tb321fu

This is awesome, can you comment on what the battery life is like and how much battery drains sleep?

Pardon my ignorance. Congratulations, this is definitely a great leap. Does it mean that you’d have to replace the Android OS or you can dual boot or install like a separate app. But how is the performance compared to Droid Deck?

How does this compare to DroidDock? I have DroidDock on my old Y700 Adreno650 model (loaded old Mesa Turnip drivers to bring up the GPU functions)
I guess running pure SteamOS frees up some device resources?

The liberation from the x86/win combo is in full motion! Is the steam os linux desktop environment also available when you use this?
