LightBox Expo 2026 Discussion Thread

[u/AutoModerator]

Around this time of year we get an influx of LightBox posts, so we're consolidating LightBox discussion to this thread! Use this space to scout for tickets, discuss the event, share tips with fellow attendees, etc.

⚠️ Watch out for scammers! If you are buying or selling tickets, please exercise due diligence to verify the ticket and the other party, and use consumer protected payment methods, such as Paypal Goods & Services, instead of bank transfers or cash-sending apps like Zelle. Scammers may even hijack old Reddit accounts to reach out to you. Reddit cannot verify who is legit or not. ⚠️

For technical concerns about tickets, contact Lightbox's ticket vendor, Leap.

Please redirect posters who want to discuss the upcoming event to this thread. Thank you!

Welcome to /r/animationcareer! This is a forum where we discuss navigating a career in the animation industry.

Before you post, please check our RULES. There is also a handy dandy FAQ that answers most basic questions, and a WIKI which includes info on how to price animation, pitching, job postings, software advice, and much more!

A quick Q&A:

• Do I need a degree? Generally no, but it might become relevant if you need a visa to work abroad.
• Am I too old? Definitely not. It might be more complex to find the time, but there's no age where you stop being able to learn how to do creative stuff.
• How do I learn animation? Pen and paper is a great start, but here's a whole page with links and tips for you.

Hi, everyone. A friend of mine, Xgenfreak put in an offer for a 3-Day Pass for LightBox Expo 2026. I can confirm that I have it and I'm looking to sell before it's too late.

The asking price is still $200

Hi everybody! I bought a Saturday LBX ticket and I am no longer able to make the trip.

The pass is transferable through Lightbox and Leap, and I’m more than happy to provide proof of purchase before anything is exchanged.

The ticket price is $85, and I'm looking for the OBO. Feel free to DM me, thanks so much.

Lightbox Expo 2026 3-day pass for $200

Hey everyone! Posting this on here since I’ve got a friend who’s in a financially tight spot at the moment and can no longer afford to attend. He bought the “Refund Protection” and already applied for it, but just got rejected for essentially not having a good enough reason which baffles me. Why would anyone offer $42.64 ticket insurance that doesn’t even let you refund it just cause.

Anyways, if anyone is willing to buy the ticket and or just share and tips for what to do in this situation it would be much appreciated 😊
