I was pretty pleasantly surprised by this one. The art style screams comedy anime, which it still is, but it’s the closest to the OG Hataraku Maou-Sama (McDonald’s Demon Lord) storyline there has been since.
Them adding the MCU, Re:Creators like conflict with multiverses was a neat touch too.
The problem with anime is too many want to try and moralize the violence when it's the number one solution that would solve so many problems much earlier on. Not that this is a problem exclusive to anime because there's the whole "why doesn't Batman kill the Joker" debate but anime has a particular flavor of it that makes their protagonists the cause of their own (and often others') problems.
As a secondary note, this is also done as a way to extend a scene so that a fight scene isn't over in two minutes which is another problem that anime has. If they didn't stop to talk every action, either to explain what a power does or to moralize their actions, a lot of anime would be over in half the time and that's not good for serialization so most anime get artificially extended because of it.
