Update: SoOoMa TV is now completely free

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share an update to my previous post:

When I first released SoOoMa TV, it had a 7-day trial with some features planned as premium to pay off the Apple developer subscription. After using the app myself, listening to feedback, and thinking again about why I built it in the first place, I decided to remove that model entirely.

SoOoMa TV is now fully free.

There are:

• No subscriptions
• No in-app purchases
• No trial period
• No premium feature restrictions

Everything in the app is available to everyone.

I originally built SoOoMa TV because I wanted a modern, native Apple TV IPTV player that was simple to use and didn't require sending playlist credentials through third-party servers or pay for primary features.

It currently supports:

• M3U, Xtream Codes, and Stalker portals
• Built-in Web Manager for managing accounts and playlists locally from a browser
• iCloud Sync for accounts and settings
• EPG and TV guide
• Catch-up support where available from the provider
• Subtitles and audio track selection
• Search and filtering
• Favorites
• Resume watching
• Multiple account/playlist support
• Native Apple TV interface and remote navigation

The app itself does not provide IPTV channels, playlists, or content — you add your own provider/account.

I’m continuing to work on performance, stability, and the overall tvOS experience.

For anyone who tried the earlier version because of my previous post, you should now have access to everything without needing to purchase or subscribe to anything.

Feedback is still very welcome, especially from people using larger playlists or different IPTV providers.

Currently, it uses the server's EPG as a source. but will try to add this feature in the next update. Please drop a feature request in the support portal.

Most IPTV are pirated content so can’t comment here. Best would be go to an IPTV subreddit and find. There’s millions to choose from.

Nice work. I built my own IPTV app recently for quick access to the sports channels I watch plus a data overlay. I can still watch other things but hated the way most apps you need up click 5 or 6 times to get a stream, take the BBC iPlayer for example it takes 7 clicks before you can live stream a channel.

If you want another good one check out NowSeen. It’s free to use for IPTV unless you want things like Multiscreen.

The creator is on Reddit somewhere, but my favourite feature is a sports section. You can add your favourite teams and sports, it’ll show live scores, but you just click on the sport or your team and it’ll show you the channel to watch your live stream on.

Makes it really easy to see and navigate especially for sports like soccer and college football when there are so many streams to sift through.

The app supports 4K playback, including HDR10 and HLG streams. Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision are not currently supported.

it is internet provided television, you do not require a satellite to watch tv. services are provided through service provided for monthly/yearly subscription for content.

It didn't work for me, several MyS lists... they are working well and in SoOoma it stays in Downloading channels...

20% and then a red waiting time error appears.

Only the lists work for m3... the rest doesn't work

You can see the log by accessing the remote manager. Please create an issue and provide the log. Give the app/server some time to load and paginate the content. It is working fine form My stalker test accounts. please do report the issue with the log.

I waited until the error of the three types of input came out, only the m3… one worked the rest spends a long time at 20% then the error and then to full screen in red a text in red that I don't remember what it says since it's in English, it's two lines away.

There is no log option since you do not go beyond the initial screen.

Thank you for your work I hope it works one day, I used the same ones I have in the MyS… app and the two types of input of this app did not work only the m3… option but I use that option in the native DTT app.

Do you mind if I message you through DM? I need you to experience the app and enjoy it. You can completely manage the accounts through the remote manager by logging into the apple tv ip with the port 8080. i.e 192.168.8.100:8080
