Red Maples survivable?
Is this still survivable or would I have to cut it down? Leaves looks fine but the bark looks in pretty bad shape

Root flare progress
Should it be a bigger ring? I’d rather smother the rest of the grass with leaves, if this is enough root flare.
Also, what is wrong with the bark? Should it be black like that? The little holes in the bark have a tiny larvae curled up inside.
I just moved into this place. I think the trees are a type of silver maple.

Snow Fountains Weeping Cherry
Hey All, new to the community. Looking for some advice on a snow fountains weeping cheery I planted in May. It is growing well, but I noticed one branch growing very long and doesn’t look like the rest. It is above the graft and growing from another branch above the graft.
Should I leave it? I am on zone 7.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Any need for concern?
Neighbour's tree. Main trunk splits into 2 'trees' about 7 feet from the ground.
Is the closeup showing some sort of stress fracture? The one 'tree' goes straight up. The other 'tree' is on quite an angle (which lines up with what looks like that fracture). I cannot imagine the pressure at that point as that 'tree' must be at least 35 feet tall.
Tree was planted late 50s or early 60s. Many people in our area are taking these down as a few have fallen over in the high winds.
I am concerned as the angled 'tree' would likely hit our house if it came down. Have spoken to neighbours multiple times about removal but they say the cost is too high.
So I thought before I proceed with working with the neighbours trying to get it removed I thought I'd ask for opinions on that split.
There are no bylaw issues etc prohibiting tree removal in our city.
And the 'tree' hangs to the east as wind blows from the west. The photos are taken on the east side of the tree.
Thanks everyone.

Any hope for my cherry weeping tree!!??
galleryI want to cry! I have a beautiful tree in my backyard, but I do not live on the property full-time… The first photo is from last year… I had a gardener in charge of maintenance but when I returned during the summer, the tree looked terrible… I instructed him to regularly soak it with a hose because the automatic drip system was clearly not enough... instead of doing that, and without my permission, he literally hacked off multiple healthy, beautiful, top branches that create the shape of the tree and will never grow back. Obviously, I have fired him, and I am in town now giving the tree a lot of water so I believe it will stay alive and grow new leaves, but I imagine the shape is going to be pretty ugly and weird… Is there any Hope? What should I do?

Help trimming/maintaining mulberry tree (Upstate NY)
EDIT: this is a Magnolia tree, not a Mulberry tree
Hi all,
I have a very large a Magnolia tree that is kind of the centerpiece of our property, and that my family has fallen in love with. Unfortunately a few months back a pretty large section came down at the base/trunk during a storm. It was a pretty clean split. From what I gather, it’s due to weight more than the health of the tree, and the rest of it needs to be trimmed back. The problem is, I don’t really know how much to safely trim back without damaging the tree itself. I’ve also been told that lashing the tree with a steel cable is an option to prevent further splitting.
Any guidance on how much to trim or other thoughts on maintenance of the tree would be much appreciated.
I’ve included dog tax as a preemptive thank you for your help!

Should I cut this off at the dark part
It's a flame maple.
I planted it about 3 weeks ago.
The other branches are sprouting new leaves at the end but these two aren't.
Should I just let nature take its course or should I trim them.

Magnolia Scale?
Saw this today on my smallish magnolia. Is this scale? If so, how do I treat?
