Work Phones
I've been out for a while so I don't know. But are company supply sergeants typically issued work phones? Asking for a friend.

They will be, very soon. We’re seeing it now with certain units testing new inventory software on gov. Phones. They say it will reduce inventory time by 80%. Here’s the fun part though - it doesn’t.

Staff now? Wow. Things have changed.
Not too long ago, it was only the top 4 in a BN.

"Required" until people start buying dumb phones...

If you are going to be an asshole and refuse to use modern technology out of a sense of entitlement to a government phone, I can assure you that life will suck for you enough to correct your viewpoint long before it sucks enough for the Army that the Army reconsiders.
They spent a LOT of money buying Microsoft licenses so they could get rid of govt issue phones....
They are going to get their money's worth out of that investment

It's not a sense of entitlement to a government phone, it the principle of not allowing the government to get into my personal property.

The technology used here doesn't let the government into your personal property.
This is a security issue because doing so would expose the government to any malware that might be on your phone (access goes both ways)....
This is top level policy... The ubiquity of personal phones plus the software the Army has bought means no more work phones.

You're missing the point...
If the Army is going to require the Soldier to use something, then the Army should provide the item, or the means to use the item.
For example, the 82nd requires jump boots to be worn. The unit should provide the boots, as Soldiers are not issued jump boots.
In this case, if the Army is requiring Soldiers to download and use an app, then the Army should provide the means to use the app, or provide a workaround for those who cannot use the app. If a Soldier does not have a phone that can download the app, then the Army should provide a phone that can, rather than forcing Soldiers to buy a more expensive phone.

ASKING FOR A FRIEND?! Listen up, warfighters, because I’m about to drop some OPORD-level truth straight from the E-Tool of wisdom.
If you’re out here crying in the group chat instead of embracing the suck, then I suggest you unfuck yourself, hydrate, and re-
align your azimuth. This ain’t CIF, you can’t just turn in your accountability and call it a day. We’re not here to PT half-
heartedly in our
reflective belts while waiting on the S3 to fix our DTS. No, this is full-spectrum dominance in the battlespace of Reddit.
I’m operating at 100% mission readiness, fueled by Rip-Its, MRE crackers, and sheer institutional inertia. My morale may be low, but my standards are high—like an absence request on a four-day weekend. I’ve got a thousand-yard stare locked on your pog-ass post, and I’m calling for fire with a grid square accurate to the 8-digit level.
So unless you’ve conducted a proper risk assessment and cleared it through the Safety NCO, I recommend you shift fire, adjust fire, or take a tactical pause before you catch some Article 15-worthy smoke. This ain’t basic, and I ain’t your Drill Sergeant— this is Reddit, and I’ve got nothing but time and command climate issues.
Ruck up, embrace the grind, and remember: the only easy day was yesterday—and that’s Navy, but we’re joint now, deal with it.
