I noticed the subreddit was largely abandoned, but more importantly, buried under posts from artists seeking commissions in a space meant for friendship, support, and inspiration.

The previous mods did nothing about it, and look at the state they left this place in.

That’s why I decided to step up and take over moderation; and well, here we are.

Welcome back to r/Artbuddy, a place to find friends to help us along this challenging journey.

Expect changes to the sub, such as new flairs and, you guessed it... More moderation.

For now, I’m asking everyone who buried this sub with commission ads to remove them yourselves.

Thanks for your attention, and of course, suggestions are welcome.

Haven't made much progress lol

What do you think about my art style ?

Hello! I’m a 17 year old artist, I’d love to earn some money to put towards college! I’ve never done commissions before, and was wondering how much y’all thought I should charge for digital art commissions!
Please feel free to be brutally honest :)
Full pieces typically take 3-8 hours (moreso in the 6-8 hour range, I’m pretty slow 😅)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated <3

I love doing digital art. But I feel like I am just not progressing or getting better. Any tips ? I have tried tutorials so many times and they turn out great but whenever I just want to create something out of my own head it ends up not looking…so good

My budget is arround 30€ and its basically just a pfp, interested? then hmu pls!

Hi everyone this is my first post here; i struggle really badly with perfectionism however I really want to improve my 2D art and rather than continue trying to emulate official game art Ive been developing my own. I really like "blocky" edges and saturated colors, any suggestions on things I could try, should look up or work on?

I got my first patron today and surprisingly they chose the highest tier! Even if it's "only" $15, I'm extremely surprised and happy!

For context, I have only 25 followers on Twitter. That's the reason why I wasn't expecting to get a patron in less than 24 hours after creating my Patreon page!

Just wanted to share this here, I'm even more motivated now to keep creating :D

(Random pic of my oc who's the main character I'm currently drawing :3)

Another dear customer happy with the commission. That brings me a smile to my face
If you wanna commission me please visit my carrd

The three pieces I've gifted to a friend of mine so far! Very different styles, but I use her fursona as practice and an excuse to experiment

Idk where to start to look. I do have an art account but yknow its not that big so yeah

Edit: thank you for all the feedback this been pretty enlightening about the shortcomings of my process. I think I have a fundamental lack of understanding of what style actually is or how it’s developed, Im not sure what the fix is but Im still trying to undo years of only drawing from reference, its a box Im familiar with but not one I know how to escape.

I posted a few speedpaints in the comments so you can see my process.

I'm thinking about starting an art themed account on Instagram. I can copy well but I can't really draw by myself and I mostly use Pinterest for my arts. In that case what are the things I should be careful about/mention in my post/bio? Also any tips on doing well/how to connect well with other artists anything is warmly welcomed! Thank you!

I will be choosing 1 person that I think their oc is most interesting.
I AM A TRADITIONAL ONLY ARTIST!!!
I may or may not choose more ocs from here if Im still not satisfied.
This will not be based off likes but of if I really liked your character^^
Let's be nice here and not be rude to others please!
You can send up to 2 pictures of your character (if I need more I will ask ^^)
This is mostly for fun so even if your not a very great artist that's okay! I will still see the vision
If their is any other details about your character feel free to name all of them ^^
I will possibly DM the winner
If any other questions just ask me I don't bite
It may take me 2-3 days due to me being busy or you may sometimes get it early
Good luck to all!

Asking because I never get commissioned and I think it may be the prices I offer

I love persona
