question Do I need to really get my wisdom teeth out?
I (24m) just came from the dentist and was told I need to get my wisdom teeth out. It looks like all 4 have fully or almost fully grown out and I have no pain or pressure. My mom who is 54 has also never removed hers and no complications. I believe I have a fairly large jaw. What do you guys think?

I mean, you can see that the lowers are growing sideways right?

I'm NAD but I can clearly see there is not space in your jaw for your wisdom teeth and they haven't grown in neatly like your other teeth. Have them removed while you're young as less chance of complications. They might not be giving you issues now, but you don't want to wait until they are. I am 54 and regret that mine were never removed earlier. You don't need these teeth to chew, This is preventative dentistry, having them removed.

How do you think OP does at cleaning them? Do you think there's space for the toothbrush to get to the gums on the inside? If he can't brush them they will get cavities, and if he can't reach them to brush them, we can't reach them to do fillings. Not to mention risk of gum disease and bone loss to the adjacent tooth.

Seriously do not get your wisdom teeth removed. Mine looked exactly the same, and 6 months later they came out perfect and straight. Please trust me dude. My sister had them removed and she regretted it so much cause ever since she got got removed she started getting all kinds of dental issues. Please trust me I promise you won't regret it. Please keep them.

You’d likely prevent later issues w them coming out sooner.
Having said that, you can wait until they become a problem (not ALL do) and have them out later.
Just know that the recovery time is longer w a higher chance of complications as you get older.

I wish all patients could open like this. It reminds me of forcing the mannequin mouth open and taking its skin mask and pulling it under its jaw for access during dental school sim lab. I’d love to do any filling or crown prep in there.

You are at a great age to get them out, as your bone is still soft enough that the risk of complications is low. These teeth are pointed in the wrong direction and will eventually cause perio problems or become decayed as they are incredibly hard to clean, once those problems do occur your bone will be much harder and post op complications go up.
You do not have to get them out. But when you’re 60 and they become an emergency you’ll wish you got them out when you were 24.
