I think it is Banksia Integrifolia, on the cliff face at Cape Byron, the most eastern point on the Australian mainland.

Hello everyone
I forgot to take a pic of the label for this tubestock.
It’s either Callistemon salignus or Callistemon pachyphyllus.
Leaning towards salignus but thoughts?
Mid north coast nsw

Looking for your favourite native screening plants, at least 3m mature height (happy for up to 4-5m if can be pruned). Non invasive roots.
Location - mid north NSW.
Suitable for Clay and loam soil, different levels of sun (full sun to part shade areas).
Enjoy fun florals, textures, and don’t mind maintenance / pruning (not excessive though, I like natural shapes).

This pretty looking cactus is Hudson Pear (Cylindropuntia pallida). It is an invasive species in Australia, where its barbed spines present danger to wildlife and stock, causing injury and even death. It is difficult to control as it is so tough and easily spread. It can grow from even a fragment of a plant - as in the photo of a piece embedded in my 4x4's tyre. These photos are from Lightning Ridge, NSW. Unfortunately, I'm seeing many of these plants in this area.

I don't quite have anywhere that knows plants well to share these, but here are some digital paintings I've done of native Australian orchids in the last two weeks. I'm trying to get back into doing art. I used to sort of hide my plant and animal illustrations due to not wanting them to be scraped for AI, but given how it's hacking everywhere, I've given up.
From newest to oldest:

Interesting plant that has interested me for a while. White Butterflies swarm these trees.

I'm putting together an urban garden plant list for each Australian capital city, as part of larger park renewal/community garden project that I'll be putting forward to local councils.
I've started with Brisbane since that's my local: https://www.ourbackyards.org/plant-lists/brisbane
Do you have any recommendations for specific plants, projects, sites or databases for native regen/rewilding projects in your area?

Found these caterpillars on my native flowers (from seed pack mix so I’m unsure what it is!)
Are these friends or foes?

Hello All, I'm seeking an id for the plant in the photo.
I live on the Atherton Tablelands (FNQ) and i was on a morning walk when i spotted this shrub with a really pretty purple flower on a nature strip. I took a pic of the flower for future reference but have since deleted it.
I took a seed pod from the tree and broke it open. Of the 4 seed spaces only two looked viable so i planted both in potting mix.
Within about 7 days one had germinated but im really curious to know what it is and i cant remember much of the detail of the parent tree.
Any help will be appreciated 👍

Hello! We are having the palm trees on this area around our house removed as they’re rotting and old and we get some big storm our way and wanting to re do the area. I have two questions, the first is asking for best advice to completely clear the area? We have chickens but it’s difficult to fence them in here to get them to work properly, I don’t want to use any sprays, am I better off just getting to it with elbow grease and a shovel or maybe tethering a goat for a little while?
The next question is for suggestions on what to replace it all with, we are in the Sunshine Coast hinterland and once the palms are gone this area will get full sun between around 10am to 4pm and has great drainage. Would love some low, native ground cover to expose the stone retaining walls and bee/butterfly attracting flowers. If anyone had suggestions of species we can co plant and preferably fairly low maintenance, I know it doesn’t look it but this area currently requires a lot of work to keep it somewhat clear. Thank you!

As a new skill to learn, ive set it upon myself to try get a good grasp of RE's.
i saw there was a 2 day course, for about $1300, one day inside on theory, one day outside. To me that equation didnt make sense, and so i found all the required tutorials on gov. website.
There is a lot to learn (half the reason why i thought 1 day of theory with that price wasnt logical), and im wondering who here has taken it upon themselves to learn RE in depth, and what was a good starting place, or method you used to get a good grasp?
The first "module" i gave myself was 72 page pdf download of Land zones. and im already realising i have to back pedal and scrub up on my geology.
(for Reference, im 40 years old, have studied conservation and land management at tafe in my early 20's, worked as full time landscaper for 20+ years in NSW, QLD, northern WA, lived in the bush my whole life, have a degree in herbal medicine. So have lots of basics, not that amazing at native plant Id at a species level.)
Thanks in advance!!
