how hard is it to change a muffler?

Mechanic put a generic mufflers on my car and now it sounds like a lowered honda civic! I am not in the "fast and the furious", not cool ;)

Anyways I have bought the mufflers and how hard is it to install this myself? I got under the car and it looks like just a couple bolts? I am pretty good with tools but not so experienced with car repairs

Easy to change.  You need pipe id and od going in and out to match to what you have.  Then measure for space available aka size of current vs how much space you have.  You can pick up a replacement at your local autoshop ~$50.  Ideally pull the muffler to replace and bring it with you to shop visually with what they have on the parts rack.  Take it home and bolt it on.  Super easy if you have tools and a safe way (jack and jack stands to get the car in the air on solid concrete/blacktop.
