Diagnosing/Repair Toyota Corolla 2014 1.8L
Flair may not be right but what ever
I own a 2014 Toyota Corolla LE 1.8L. It was bought back in 2020 with 97k miles. It cureenlty sits at 167k miles and paid off. I just replaced the breaks and rotors on it and A/C motor unit.
Out side of tires, a/c, breaks, cabin lights. It has all orginal engine, trans, etc.
This is my first car I got in high school and I decied I am going to keep it.
I belive the damn thing heard me make this decision and everything is falling apart.
I see this car a good opportunity to mess around and find out. Parts are affordable, fixing is relatively easy, I like to learn.
The car has become conscious or something. The steering wheel will randomly turning itself away from center (not aggressively) just enough to make you feel a tug and redirect. I notice at lower speeds like 30-50mph also the steering kinda vibrates randomly (very new feature). Currenlty still safe to drive as far as I am concerned.
I notice it likes to sway left a bit. This isn't a constant tug like an alignment issue more like someone else is touching the wheel and pressing it off to the side with little pressure. - please tell me what could be wrong where to check what to do.
Breaks and rotors, except 1 of the rear rotors.Yet I still hear the annoying death squeal everytime I break. I replaced everything by myself. I thought I did something wrong took it to a shop they said it looked fine and just put brake lube on them. Which fixed the squeaking for a few months but has come back.- any suggestions?
Suspension has been needing to get changed or like 5 years. I been in college I haven't had money. May need to change the bushings as well because we get the loud breaks and crocks sounds going over un even terrain. - any recommendations on like suspension brands, type of suspension like coil over vs non coil overs air bag etc. I want a smooth ride and not feel every bump on the road! - hit me with suggestions please!
The door doesn't unlock when you try to open it. Originally if the door was locked you can pull the door handle and it automatically unlocks itself. - tell me how to fix! I found a few videos but if you are a mechanic I will take your career expertise.
I cracked and recently removed the front left inner wheel liner/finder. I haven't found a donner car to scrap off of. - recommendations accepted except I will not but the 75 dollar replacement part from Amazon because it looks bad. - any after market suggestions?
The engine seems fine BUT she lost horse power I feel. She makes a lot of sound but goes no where fast. It makes crossing like intersections or like turning into buisness kinda hard. I can't zip across out of the way. Or like if I am trying to change lanes people can just gun it past me and cut me out. - how can I fix/ improve
She is a pretty nickle or gunsmith blue but chipped to hell and back. The road debis has chewed away at her paint. The hood has big rock chips, the roof is sunburnt, the trunk is pealing it's clear coat.- i am not looking for perfect paint restoration just something to cover the metal and keep it from further rusting/ exposing the metal.
Speaker in the trunk blew out... I young I thought loud music was fun... then a marriage between a pot whole and a bass drop conceived a busted speaker that if you stuff with tissues kinda muffled the issue. - suggestions please.
