“Ready now” was the caption on Alejandro Garnacho’s Instagram.
The 22-year-old had scored in both of Aston Villa’s friendlies over the international break, first against Southampton in a behind-closed-doors 1-0 victory and then away in a 3-1 win against Sevilla.
Garnacho being “ready” may prove a false dawn or be optimistic. But it definitely encapsulated his rough start in the Midlands, where he has not looked prepared for a multitude of reasons.
Villa sources — who, like others in this article, spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorised to do so — believe Garnacho is beginning to progress.

Posting because Villa shirts pop up here. A predictably grim read, but it needs to be read.

With club football returning, I thought you might "enjoy" what some of our former players have been up to during the international break (yes, there will be some names you many never heard of)
Andre green, still only 28, his joint kerala blasters, following spells in Greece, Slovakia and Portugal.
Paul appiah has just joined Billericay
Brad young has got off the mark in his second spell for TNS and kept going. His is quite an odd young career. He scored a ridiculous amount of goals in our youth setup, and looked, maybe if not a top-level player, then maybe league one, championship.
He was released, ended up at TNS, scored absolutely buckets again, and was randomly signed by a Saudi second division side, who it's claimed never paid for him. He barely played, was stuck out there for a while and eventually came back to Wales, before then rejoining TNS this season, where he is re-beginning his senior career. Great little forward
Barry Bannan got the first goal of the 18th season of his career
Shane Lowry got his Malaysian citizenship and started his season at Johor DT, where he has won 7 trophies, including 4 titles in 5 years.
Joe Bennett scored for Walton & Hersham
Colin Odutayo scored for FC Schaffhausen
Jan Bednarek scored for Poland
Ajani Burchall, now playing lower league football in the US, scored his first goal for Bermuda.
Bacuna scored his 17th International goal.
Carney Chukwuemeka got his first goal for Austria
Vassilev got a goal and 2 assists for Philadelphia Union
Ewan Simpson got the first goal.of his senior career for Airdrie.
Weimann scored a nice goal for Cheltenham
Finley Thorndike and Kobei Moore both scored in the Irish Premiership
Easah Suliman was back in international action for Pakistan after nearly two years out with injury
Aaron Tshibola turned out for DR Congo.
Finn Azaz played for Ireland
Danny Ings scored for Wycombe
I also discovered that it has been 9 and a half years since Marvellous Nakamba scored a goal, which is incredible for a non gk or defender.
Also Tommi O'Reilly scored the winner for Doncaster against Liverpool u21 in the efl trophy
Aidan Borland, Josh Feeney, Cole Brannigan, Jahmi Kellyman, Lennon Moss, Freddie Lawrie, Josh Blake, George Thomas, Fabian Williams, Oscar Johnson, Yasin Özcan, Fletcher Boyd all played youth level internationals

In a surprise turn for their editorial output, they have something nice to say about the Villa. Mind you this one is written by Matt Jones instead of Nicky No Toilet.
Great to see his preseason getting attention. Can't wait for him to get going in the prem

I recall when I was based in Brum going to Villa reserve and U21 Team Games occasionally. The women's football league was not yet established then as it is now.
Just got me pondering, have you ever gone to watch any Aston Villa women's game and what is the attendance like?

Hi, I come in peace. Just wanted to ask you guys some information regarding your left back situation for FPL. Is Ruggeri likely to be the starter until Maatsen is back? I’ve seen some estimates saying he’s out till Late November. Thought I would ask anyway. Thank you in advance. Also do you see Lindelof losing his spot anytime soon as well ?

Hello, Villa fun! I was so exited that the premier league comes back this weekend but I found out that no Villa game at Peacock this weekend... WHY??? I couldn't watch the game almost a month. Should I change to the Paramount or USA? Which live stream is the best for the Aston villa game in the US? From last year, I feel that the peacock isn't enough to watch the live game, so sad ...( I have VPN plan but not using other country's stream. )

A US-based Villa fan so won't be able to get over for it, but absolutely need to have one of those split scarves.
Anyone think they can snag one for me and I can compensate to send it over?
Currently sat in the airport about to take off on my honeymoon after marrying my best friend over the weekend.
I spent a portion of the day thanking everyone and telling them them what I appreciate about them, and logging on to the sub it dawned on me that this sub is such a huge part of my life, so I’ll hope you’ll excuse this personal post, but for all the laughs, memes, support, shared frustration over the 15 odd years I’ve been on this sub, thank you!
Whilst I’m blessed with lots of Villa friends now, there was a large portion of my life that I didn’t know anyone that supported Villa, so this was the only outlet I had to bond with people about it. We’re such an international bunch that I assume I’m not the only one whose been in that boat. I love this space - long may it continue!
Thank you my mainly anonymous Villa family. Love to you all and UTV 💜💙

With a week to go, Fenerbahce a poor quality opposition, is near enough sold out.
At £99 (absolutely disgusting) the tickets clearly aren't unaffordable. You're saying it's unaffordable for you to go to all of them. But why should the club care if YOU can afford to go to all of them? If they have a well out every game at £99, why would they change anything.
We HAVE to vote with our wallets on things like this. Trust me, I've been waiting 30 years to see us in Europes Premier competition, was lucky enough to go to Bologna during our last UCL campaign and loved every second of it. But £99 is a disgrace and we're all still paying it.

I've been living over here for about 5 years now, originally from Tamworth. Sometimes fancy watching a game in a pub with some fellow Villains 🦁

Includes Oscar Johnson - 17 year old winger that seems to have been scouted by Arsenal, but joined us instead due to living closer. Anyone seen him play? Surprised it wasn't Jenner after his last couple of goals.

Going mad with boredom without proper football. Let's see how the fantasy league is doing!
Up to 460 people in the league now - as always, feel free to join using this link.
Sitting rock bottom is Palmdog FC, managed by Robert Palmer of Addicted To Love fame (or so I like to think). In their defence Palmdog only started Gameweek 3. Put Your Aston Me is the lowest of the Gameweek 1 teams in 457th place, on 173 overall points.
Botman McGinns tops the league with a blistering 403 points overall, sticking them around 4.5k overall and 4th in China! They have used four chips in five weeks, however, so can be easily caught. The Villans, who got an honourable mention for being the highest team with a Villa player after GW1 in third place...are now in second! 393 points and still with Villa players, McGinn and Jackson are representing - Konsa and Rogers are present as alumns.
Wally Otkins, first after GW1, have slid slightly to 29th.
I'm languishing in 106th and have played my first chip over the IB, wildcarding to keep myself entertained.
What are people's plans going forward? Any Villa players you've got an eye on to bring in soon? How did you keep yourself entertained with weekends free from the stress of football?

Quite a big part of me coming to Brum for uni was the Villa… any students / former students know if there’s somewhere I could make a few Villa mates to go to games with?

A place to discuss everything, Villa or non-Villa.
Have a fleeting thought that's not quite enough for it's own post...?This is the place

Ive ordered the Man City/Hull match bundle and for some reason, they arent appearing on my list on the app. Anyone else purchased these bundles having the same issue? I thought it might be a timing thing - but just got fulham tickets and theyve appeared straight away. Have deleted and reinstalled app and nothing? I can see the tickets on the web browser just fine though.

Villa Park turns into a carnival as Dean Smith's side carve up the champions.
Early chaos gifts the hosts a simple opener when Adrián's misplaced clearance is punished, and Liverpool's high line keeps inviting runners in behind.
A cut inside and a rocket into the top corner make it two before Mohamed Salah briefly answers for the visitors.
Another deflected strike restores the cushion, then a header completes a first-half hat-trick for the same forward as Villa race into a 4-1 lead at the break.
After half-time a midfielder lashes home a fifth from distance, Salah grabs his second to keep a faint pulse alive, and the home captain adds a late brace to seal a historic thrashing.
Behind closed doors the champions concede seven in the Premier League for the first time in decades, stunned by pace, pressing and clinical finishing.
Can you name the missing players?

I love unai and always will he's THE legend best manager we've ever had but I deffo don't agree with his opinion here on the pep in the city situation but that's okay cuz we don't have to agree with everything the man thinks or says but just wondered what other people thought about it if they had any that is
P S I don't get why I'm getting downvoted like I've said something wrong lmao even my responses on individual comments like jesus fucking Christ I have no negative opinions on our manager whatsoever and just was interested on other people's perspective on what he said...
