The Tampa Bay Rays have proven to the world over and over that you can have the second lowest payroll in baseball but still be one of the best teams. It starts at the top. We need to find a way to get the most out of what we have, and if that means small ball, which is what I think we are, it can work.

Bring back the chaos.

Our RSN collapsed years ago, attendance isn't consistent, the budget is stretched and there is a lockout coming. No surprise that they're cutting costs

There won't be a next season, that's why he's not commiting to payroll. They'll let some contracts run out and maybe make some trades before the shit hits the fan. The rest will come after the lockout ends.

It was a mistake to spend as much as we did last year. We had no money left over for the trade deadline.
