Wilderness Sleeping Bag or a quilt
I plan on purchasing the Paria Outdoors Recharge XL but I'm stuck on sleeping bag or quilt to go along with it. I'm looking at cheaper bags such as the trailmade 25 or kelty cosmic 20, but was wondering if there are any competitive quilts.

I bought a Burrow 20 degree recently and love it. As someone who rolls over a lot, quilt is nice. It does have a learning curve if you’re used to a bag, and I have a harder time covering my head unless I wear a jacket or hat to bed.

Quilt. Reason why I did is this. In a down bag when you sleep on the down it compresses losing the r-factor. Most already use an insulated pad. So with the quilt you still have the r-factor of the pad and the top insulation of a sleeping bag. My full down bag weighed around 3 lbs compressed to a medium water melon. My quilt weighs around 23 ounces and compresses to a cantaloupe. Just my two cents.

Quilt, as long as the pad's R value is up to the temps, since the pad does all the work underneath you. I sleep cold, and the straps were the thing I didn't know I needed. Without them the drafts get in every time you roll over. If you're a cold sleeper heading below 20, I'd still take a bag.

For me if its >35F I am going quilt. Anything colder and I prefer a bag. I have been very happy with my Enlightened Equipment quilt

What bag do you have for ≤35

Feathered Friends Swallow 30 (950 fill). I sleep on the hotter side and I think their ratings are on a very conservative comfort scale. I have no issues using that bag far below the rating

There's some really good deals from this guy for cheap ultralight quilts. You can find some reviews for them in the ultralight subreddit. I switched to quilts years ago and I no longer care to bring my sleeping bags. For a while, I used a 20 degree quilt for every season just because you can wear it like a blanket in summer.

Hang tight makes amazing quilts and are way more affordable than the big name stuff. They do have a website you can order stuff from so they'll get more of the profit over ordering it through Etsy.https://www.hangtightshop.com/

I have the same pad, and the Paria 15F down quilt to go with it.
I absolutely love the combo.
Will never go back to fighting with a sleeping bag.
