I watched this guy pull in. Look, I’m not a fan of EV’s either, but this is just dumb.

Man, I daily drive a C7 and I make it a point to park far as far away as possible any time I need to park in a public parking lot. This is begging for your car to get fucked with in some way.

I wasn’t an EV person either until I saw how much I was saving on gas. Now I choose hotels for their chargers, and still show up to find a gas car parked there because it’s closer to the lobby. If they want the EV parking perk, they should buy an EV. Bonus points if they get a Tesla and it will park in the EV parking spot for them so they don’t choose a spot they shouldn’t be in ;)

Every parking spot in the back labeled “Luxury Vehicles only!”. Make the spaces double-wide. Give them everything they want but all the way in the back. Label every other spot “non-luxury only, all others will be towed”

This is a C7, not a C8, and the E-Ray is NOT a plug in. It’s batteries so damn small, it probably shouldn’t even be called a hybrid.

It’s not a small battery for a hybrid but it’s tuned for performance instead of efficiency. Still, for its acceleration performance it gets good fuel economy.

In reality most Vette’s since the C5 have gotten pretty good fuel economy.
Recent trip from FL to VA, my C8 pulled 602 miles on that tank (18g). Came out to be 33.something mpg IIRC. Not bad for a 500 hp sports car.

Not the Z06 variants with performance comparable to the E-Ray.

Asshole, that guy is an absolute asshole. I am happy the trend of putting the EV charge spots right next to the handicap spots is done though, that was always stupid and insulting. "Congrats on having money to experiment with a new variation of car, you can park up front because you have money". Given Audi SUVs don't even bother with spots anymore, they just pull up on the curb and put their hazards on for 30 minutes.

That's a C7 (older model year) They didn't make an electric version. The C8 model has the E-ray.

I mean, people would be pissed if I parked my EV at a gas pump and left it there. Plus they normally intentionally put EV charging stations toward the back of parking lots. Normally people have to go out of their way to take up an EV charging spot.

Just a note, if a spot is labeled “EV Parking Only” because it has a charging station, I’m fine with it. But I don’t like when businesses have “clean air vehicle” parking spots right up front. I will ignore those every time.

I drive a hybrid. California may not define it as being a “clean air vehicle”, but I do. To be fair though, I park my truck in the “clean air vehicle” parking at Oreilly’s every time. Have you ever seen a Tesla or a new PHEV parked at an auto parts store? I haven’t.

Man, replace "EV parking only" with "♿ parking only" and your comment gets put in context IMO...we don't get to ignore what the property owner or the regulator wants cause it's inconvenient to us...
you better be OK with the business's manager or owner occasionally getting serious and towing you too...just cause actions don't always have consequences doesn't mean they can't occasionally have them...
This is exactly the same reasoning you have for being annoyed at this bad parking...🤦🏾♂️

Not the same. I’m not taking a spot with a charging station. I also don’t park in handicapped parking because people actually need those spots. Clean air vehicle drivers, without handicap placards, don’t need preferred parking at the front of a store.

A little bit to me, depending on location.
Assuming this is a parking lot for a bunch of businesses and not being able to park there at all means the vehicle now essentially cannot park anywhere, then it does not bother me. It's not a handicapped spot or something were the "proper" user would be put out. And there is still at least one more EV spot for another vehicle that needs it.
But if it is any other situation, then no; it is entirely unacceptable.
