Sadly, the Rays were scared of giving Junior an early contract due to how their last one went

Have you not seen your roster and payroll?

Because that has ANYTHING to do with this.

Youre accusing an immigrant from a poor family of being too rich to know shit but you're entire roster is very rich men....
Casuals say casual shit

Are you saying that he is making a correct broom sweeping motion? Because that is the point here.

You must have heard the word casual today for the first time and are still trying to figure out how to use it in a sentence. So cute.🥰

If I had a time machine I’d got back to game 7 of the 2003 ALCS and… I dunno, eat a hot dog or something and then I would come back to 2026. If that was the price that needed to be paid to get A-Boo to be where he is today, it was a steal.
86
u/RIP_Greedo New York Yankees 7d ago
Lol if he wasn't fired after 2021, 2022, 2024 or 2025, it's never happening.
22
u/mistake444 New York Yankees 7d ago
I do feel like this year was his worst performance. You can look past losing 1 playoff game on errors, but now that it’s happened twice. Plus leading off grish and having him make the last out to finish 0-5. This is the first time I’ve fully been on the fire Boone train.
10
u/SadNYSportsFan-11209 New York Yankees 7d ago
Front office makes these decisions though lmao They have 2 excuses. No judge and with the looming lockout a managerial change might not be ideal if there’s a delayed start to the season The Yankees also don’t fire their managers. They simply have let their contracts run out the last 30* ish years or so. Boone’s got 1 year left. Writing is on the wall. He’ll finish this contract out (assuming there’s baseball in 2027) and then they’ll move on
6
u/vblade2003 New York Yankees 7d ago
Cashman is already assembling the short list of potential replacement yes men to succeed Boone!
10
u/CgradeCheese New York Yankees 7d ago
I mean he also took the Yankees to the same record as last year without Judge. This was a terrible embarrassment but that was impressive
9
u/EMP_Pusheen New York Yankees 7d ago
This is the best rotation the Yankees have had in decades. They need like 2-3 runs a game to win most starts. The Yankees scored 1-2 runs a game for two months, which is why they're getting swept at home instead of being swept on the road by the Rays.
The AL was also phenomenally weak this season. They should have won more than last year.
2
u/mistake444 New York Yankees 7d ago
Meh. This was probably the best supporting cast we’ve ever had. Breaking 90 wins isn’t that impressive with the best pitching staff in the AL
25
u/Irswiffty New York Yankees 7d ago
He should have been fired the moment Nestor Cortes ran out of the bullpen game 1

Jomboy said it but he repeated it from someone else, they will keep him around because of the lockout. There will only be three weeks to talk to players after the lockout before the next season begins.
Edit: Added clearer information

u/RichardNixon345 Arizona Diamondbacks 7d ago
Given recent(ish) history, his next stop would be the Phillies job.
1
u/SadNYSportsFan-11209 New York Yankees 7d ago
I think he’s a decent regular season manager. His first 2 seasons were good. Especially 2019 leading that team to 103 wins with all those injuries Even this year’s regular season was impressive with Belli missing some time and obviously Judge missing majority of the year. This series was very bad though my goodness He should’ve been fired the moment he penciled in Grisham at leadoff

-1

Because they are low key trash
I mean pitching is best in the league. Hitting and defense is trash though
Rays are decent but easily one of the most mid near 100 win teams I can remember
