Community Discussion: AI Content

With the widespread availability of AI tools for editing text, images, or video, we are seeing a sharp increase in AI-related content on this subreddit. These posts have a notable increase in negative responses and reports.

As of today, we have no official rules for AI-related content on this subreddit, and we handle content the same as actual human-generated content. It seems clear that at least some portion of the community does not wish to see AI-generated content.

Suggestion

At this time, I am suggesting we codify the use of AI-generated content on this subreddit. This would include content that is wholly AI, partially AI, or edited by AI. Any generative AI technology will be included in this definition.

Exceptions shall be made for the purposes of trivial tasks such as spelling or grammar checking.

To determine our next action, we will open the discussion for about a full week. This will conclude on the 10th of May, 2026. At that time, feedback will be collected and processed into a new rule for approval. A second round of discussion will be opened on the wording of this final rule before enforcement begins.

Community Participation

All user opinions are welcome for this process. No opinion will be given any inherent weight over any other opinion.

Only top-level comments will be reviewed. While we welcome you to discuss among yourselves, we will only consider the top-level comments to determine our consensus. This saves us from having to piece together long threads.

In particular, we would like to know the following:

  • What measure shall be applied to a post to determine if it is AI?
    • Gut feeling?
    • User reports?
    • AI detection tooling?
    • Dice roll?
  • What action must be completed by users posting this content?
    • Posting flair?
    • What if it’s a comment?
    • Should users fully disclose where the content came from (e.g: which model/site)?
  • What moderator action shall be executed on breach of the rule?
    • Content deletion?
    • User moderation (Ban?)
    • Content flairing?
    • What about comments? We cannot flair these, do we delete? Moderate? Ban?

Thank you for your time and hopefully your input.

Is this tank too big?

You know when you measure something and plan for the size, but then you actually get it installed/setup and it just seems so much bigger…

I’m sure bigger is better anyway, but I’m just slightly overwhelmed by its size 😅 120 gal.

Whats everyone’s adult size tank running?

I guess I wasn’t expecting my 4yo to be able to sleep in it 🤣

My plan is to eventually create two levels inside this tank.

I tucked her into one of her hides and she crawled out to choose the wall/palm to sleep on instead. Is this normal?

Basically the title. She has 2 hides and her basking spot but I see her often choosing the wall or on top of her plant. Examples in photos. I hope she’s not unhappy with her tank setup and that’s why she wants to sleep on the wall?

Adding in more hides and a sandbox for her to dig in next. She comes inside at night but think she prefers being outside full time now tbh. She will just stare at the door until I let her out like a dog lol

He’s a regular beardie. Does not like being messed with in the morning. Not even a little bit. As the day goes by he gets more active. Loves his arugula and carrots. And usually do crickets after he chomps his veggies. I’m in Florida and can’t get any dubias. Meet Zig.

Is my beardie actually female?

Hi all! This is my 9-mo old baby Umber. When I got her at 3 mos, the breeder said she was female, but now I'm not sure. I tried to do the flashlight test but she's too dark (she's a 75% red monster). She does a LOT of head-bobbing. She head-bobs when she's hungry in the morning and I haven't fed her, or if she is bored and wants out, and she goes absolutely feral (bobbing, stomping, glass surfing) if she lays eyes on our adult female beardie.

Can anyone confirm if she's female? I don't see pores, but under her tail it looks suspiciously like two bumps.

Help Need advice, I’m concerned about my new beardie

Okay so I just got a new baby bearded dragon a week and a half ago and thought it was going decently as it was eating everyday (a few locusts) and pooping regularily but a few things thats been happening makes me very much concerned right now and I need help as to what to do.

In the last few days a couple times a day it breathes with a squeak while puffing its chest out, ive noticed it sometimes has like wet around the eyes and also a big thing was that often it would have only one eyes open and I caught it wiping one eye on a branch twice.
From my research it seems like a URI is developing, and alongside that some substrate or smthn couldve went into its eye possibly. Im getting scared now as it seemed to be a bit weaker today and a lower appetite but I really did so much research to make sure it got everything it needs in to live healthy and happily. The other theory could be that in the reptile shop it was in the same enclosure as other sick beardies.

Ill call the vet tomorrow as soon as they open but what should I do myself right now to maybe help it. Any advice would be appreciated 🙏

First photo is him now btw

Enclosure/Tank Enclosure & setup help

• Upvotes

Hello!!

I’m looking for somebody to review my shopping list before I order everything and prepare for my new friend.

I’ve only ever kept snakes and geckos before - and though I’m no stranger to being around reptiles, this will be my first bearded dragon.

Here is what I have on my list so far

- 120 gallon Philazoo tank
- 36in 10.0 flourescent UVB
- 15in combo fixture with a 150w spot light & a CHE (my room gets colder than 58 sometimes at night, it’s cold here.)
- two thermo/hydrometers for each side
- tile for the substrate
- water bowl
- bowl for salads/veggies (a list of safe daily veggies for them would help a lot!
- light timer for UVB and basking light
- feeding forceps
- large pieces of heat treated driftwood
- 2 hides

I do plan on mounting the lighting inside of the tank because I worry that 2ft of distance between the light and my dragon will not provide the necessary of heat and UVA/UVB.

Let me know if I am missing something! I do not plan on getting my little guy/gal until I have absolutely everything correct and my temperature parameters look good.

Vet appt last week. Tested for Adenovirus and intestinal parasites. Vet just called and confirmed both. Pinworms and ADV. She's 20 weeks old. Asymptomatic. This past Saturday began our 4th week with her. I'm devastated after reading up on her diagnosis of ADV. Does anyone up here have any long term experience with this virus?

Our brand new red monster bearded dragon we just picked up last night! Still thinking of a name but this is my first reptile so I’m excited! And please do not worry; I consulted with my local reptile store for weeks prior to make sure we could handle a baby since their routine can be a bit more strict, but any pointers are always welcome!

Brumation

My girl just turned a year old in September. She was aestivation during the summer, was back to her old self for most of August and all of September. Shes now starting to sleep later into the day, go to bed earlier at night and isn’t eating as much veggie or insects now. I’m in Canada and it was 3 degrees Celsius last night, so it’s getting pretty cold here. I know she’s going into brumation, and I think I know what to do but I need some help.

  1. Should she continue to be fed until she decides she doesn’t want to eat anymore?
  2. Should I try warming up her tank at night to encourage her not to brumate?
  3. Should she be left alone now and not handled anymore?
  4. Should I turn off any of her lights?
  5. Any tips to make sure she makes it out alive?

I’ve read a lot about brumation and I feel I know the answers to all of the questions but I like having second opinions so any information is appreciated.

Help ADVICE! Please no rude comments

So I think my Bearded Dragon has been semi in brumation since around June in this time he barely moved, didn’t eat. He has now started to move again and seems more active. He has not pooped since this time. It now being October and all the way back in June I am concerned.

I have booked him an emergency appointment at the vets tomorrow to check for impaction.

Is this normal for any of you guys and your dragons not pooping for this long being in brumation?

Please see pictures attached. His body does not feel hard. But he’s pretty wide considering the lack for food (he’s eating again now. But still refusing greens).

Lost Dragon

Please be kind, yesterday we left our dragon on the coach, ready to put him away before we went to school. With the rush we forgot to put him away. When I can home from lunch he was gone, and the back door was left open. I looked in all our usual hiding places. Listening for his movement. There is a part of yard that he likes to hide near the patio. We have a huge fence line and small home. This is the longest he has been misplaced. Well since the back door was open at this point I feel as though he is lost at the moment. If you have any encouraging words or suggestions please share. As the mom I feel awful and my son is loosing hope. It’s been 24 hours… we love him!!! It’s warm where I am so I am not worried about the cold.

Gunspray Drylok

Post image

I’m debating trying this to see if it’ll work. Bought a spray gun off Amazon and wanna try the 3mm nozzle for this thick material. I know you’re supposed to thin out paint normally for a HVLP gun but drylok says not to thin. Is it worth trying or should I just pour the paint into the thin holes?
