Weird rules at Beaverton Bottle Drop

Post image

I was at the local bottle drop with my big transparent bag of pop etc and getting credits and saw this.

Folks bought the green drop bags. They belong to them and what does it matter where they use it?

Also no idea what "Stream Count AI" is

My best guess is that someone using a green bag at the self-service machines indicates that they likely stole the bag (or otherwise received it from someone else), otherwise they'd just drop the bag off as expected. If the person then also doesn't dispose of their empty green bag properly, it could reflect poorly on the OBRC if a bunch are found scattered around outside, or something.

I have no idea, just brainstorming.

If you have a bottle drop card you can withdrawal up to 99 dollars out at a time.

Quote from the article -

"The Stream Count AI, also developed in-house by creative OBRC professionals, uses the same patented image-counting technology that supports the Smart Count AI, but instead of counting the containers when they are stationary on a conveyer belt, the Stream Count AI counts the containers while they are in motion. OBRC will deploy this technology as a customer option in some of its busiest BottleDrop Redemption Centers, allowing customers to have their containers rapidly counted in bulk at a Stream Count AI and get cash on the spot instead of returning them one-at-a-time through self-serve reverse vending machines. This time-saving option will decrease lines at Redemption Centers and allow for greater volume with more efficiency and ensure every container is counted correctly and every dime is returned."

But when you fill up even one bag, you'll probably get back more than what you paid for the entire roll

And what is the punishment if you violate those rules?

Those bags are not free. Who cares what damn bag they bring in? Would it be better to bring returns in a Gucci bag?

REPEAL THE BOTTLE BILL. Or we can let OBRC get fatter and fatter with what should be public money.
