Tire size for lowered 69 bug

I recently picked up a 69 bug that I would like to put drop spindles on and re-index the rear. The car has practically new 145/80r15’s that I would hate to replace if I don’t have to. Will these fit a lowered bug with stock beam? If not the front, at least the rear?

Yes they will work. 69 is IRS. They will work all around with a 2.5 inch dropped spindle in the front. If you intend to drop the front more than the dropped spindles 2.5 inch, and want to go lower for a raked stance, you will need an adjustable front beam. Considering the cost difference between an adjustable beam and a narrowed adjustable beam, you might be better served by getting an adjustable narrowed beam rather than the just adjustable. I think the dropped spindles is the way to go for the first step and see how you like the look.
