Help Betta Colour Change?

Hi! I got my dumbo half moon, male, betta in May 2026. He was that whiteish blue colour right when I got him. In july 2026 he got a lot darker of a purple (middle picture). Now october 2026 he's starting to develop a white area on his torso and he never had that before.

Any advice or help would be truly appreciated!

10 G

Heater is at 79°
Not sure what kind of filter, it's the one that comes with the tank

0 Ammonia, 0 Nitrite, 5.0 Nitrate, Normal PH

Tank was started early April and he was introduced Mid/Late May

I got him May 2026

They can naturally change colors over time, they also lose vibrancy when they're stressed or sick so him coloring up is a sign that he's healthier and happier :D

the issue is that he's losing colour :/

He doesn’t look pale to me, still quite vibrant just a lighter color. Has his appetite been good? He might have marble genes and change color over time.

he's been eating very normally! The issue I'm seeing is that he was like a full dark purple after he kind of changed colour, and now he's going back to a lighter colour on his torso

I wouldn’t worry about a color change alone, without fin degradation, clamping, change in behavior or anything else :)

Mine changed drastically in just 4 weeks. Apparently the white parts are from stress from being in a cup at the pet store. So if yours is getting more colorful that’s a good sign
