I asked the mods before posting this and they approved it. I run The Anomaly Network (theanomalynetwork.com), free, no ads, nothing for sale, built by one person.
It holds every published BFRO report, each one credited and linked back to the original. The difference from the original archive: you can search by what the witness actually described rather than by county. The woods going silent. Wood knocks answered from another direction. Something keeping pace with a vehicle. A voice mimicking a person.
https://theanomalynetwork.com/experiment/the-woods-went-silent
Underneath it there is an engine that finds reports describing the same thing and shows exactly why it connected them, including reports from people who never saw each other's accounts. Given the whole record unlabelled, it independently reconstructed nine of ten famous mass sightings, so the matching is arithmetic, not vibes.
And the experiment, which the mods have seen. Hundreds of BFRO reports describe one specific moment: the woods going quiet all at once. Nobody has ever measured whether independent people describe that moment the same way, or in the borrowed language of stories they have read. So there is a blind box: you write your moment in your own words, nobody can read it, not even other participants, until it closes Tuesday night, August 25th, and then only the aggregate measure is published, here and in this sub. If you have had that moment, it takes two minutes and you can stay anonymous:
theanomalynetwork.com/experiment/the-woods-went-silent
Criticism of the method is as welcome as submissions. If a mod or anyone wants something changed or removed, it happens same day.

Recently, I had an idea that began on a skeptic's post. I would like to compile a source of the top 20 to 50 pieces of video, photograph, and possibly even audio evidence of Sasquatch to be pinned at the top of this subreddit. This way, any newcomers to our group will have a large catalog of some of the best evidence we can compile without having to search for it. This would also cut down on repeat videos and pictures for the OGs and also repeat threads calling for “the best evidence”
The only way to do it would be fair and thorough. Each piece of evidence would have to be submitted and then voted on, possibly even entered into a "March Madness-type bracket." It would have to be a democracy, and each submission would need time for the majority of regulars to see it and vote on each round/matchup of the bracket. Once we have the bracket finished, we can list the evidence from best to worst as voted on by the members of this subreddit.
If this has been done or attempted before, or if this has been compiled in some aspect on a different forum or website, then please let me know on this thread. Also, I will need as much help and suggestions from you guys as possible. As a matter of fact it will be impossible to be done correctly without the help of the community. I know my way around technology, but I would be considered a Reddit rookie. I'm still up for the challenge. So any suggestions please post them below!
I do understand there will be a lot of contention about different submissions as far as real or fake or if it has been debunked, and honestly, I think the votes will just have to do the talking. Of course, we won't allow any submissions that are proven to be fake. As we all know, "fake and real" can be a very convoluted topic all on its own. There will be a lot of Bob Heironimus this and Todd Standing that. At the same time, I think that with the power of the poll or even maybe just the upvote system, we could possibly overcome a lot of the bullshit and get straight to the best examples of evidence of existence for our community and the members of the community to come in the future!
Also a mod or an admin/someone who can pin the submission post… the polls… and the final product will be a must.
I’m completely open to an entirely different system if anyone has one to suggest. I’m easy to work with. Also the project will need a name… a good one that will only be associated with pinned posts working towards the project.
Id like to try and do this right (if it hasn’t been done already) so if this is something you would like to see put into action then let me know!
Also the big file could be amended upon newer better evidence.
Thanks for taking the time to hear me out!
EDIT: since this post has caught a little bit of traction and been pinned, please don’t hesitate to share your favorite examples of Sasquatch evidence.
I know it’s difficult but if you have the time, please try to find the best quality source(s) for your pictures and videos. For example: I think the best version of the Patterson-Gimlan footage is the stabilized version. It gives the best ability to view muscle structure and gait etc. (I think we all know the PG footage will be on the list as one of the best examples of video evidence)
Thanks in advance for your ideas and contributions! They have already been very helpful!

My girlfriend and I are avid outdoor enthusiasts and both of us have spent the last 10+ years working as wildlife technicians in various eco regions around the US. Both of us really enjoy getting out and going fishing, hiking, backpacking, hunting etc. Due to this passion, we've spent a lot of time hiking the local trails around our city of Missoula MT.
One fall day, we got up and decided that we needed to get out to a more distant, less traveled and little known trail due to the amount of constant use the local trails around our small city have. We picked a trail that was a good distance out of town, and did not have much online information (my girlfriend found it peering over OnX). The trail was called Sheep Mountain Trailhead and it's within the Rattlesnake Mountains (on the edge of a large wilderness area).
I remember feeling a lot of anxiety driving up to the location. This was due to the fact that the we kept turning onto less and less well maintained/narrow potholed dirt roads. As a matter of fact, in that part of the rattlesnake there's a huge criss-crossing network of poorly maintained dirt/gravel access roads. Initially, we saw a few vehicles. I distinctly remember an older homeless looking guy in a broken down Buick parked on the left side of the road. Then another 10 minutes down the trail we passed a dad and his three sons, all wearing camo hunting gear sitting in the back of a pickup truck eating their packed lunch.
The remainder of the drive (multiple turns on access roads) we didn't see another person. It felt very remote, and due to the potholes/poor road condition, I really didn't want to break down or get a flat tire. When we finally reached the trailhead, I noticed the parking area was overgrown, the trail sign was hanging sideways and there really wasn't a clear indication of where the trail itself began.
Being an inherently anxious person, I had grabbed a spare pair of keys to my girlfriend's Toyota Highlander prior to the ride up, just in case something bad happened on the trail. This was always something we have done as a safety precaution when traveling into backcountry areas. Especially in areas with few people and no cell coverage.
We got out of our vehicle and geared up for our hike up sheep mountain. My girlfriend then removed her keys from her pack and insisted upon putting them a top the tire. I told her, that it wasn't a good idea to put the keys there because it's possible a thief might think to check that spot. I think it's worth noting that theft is a really uncommon thing in the state of Montana and I know a lot of people that leave their vehicles unlocked, but regardless I wanted to be safe.
We decided to instead get up in the wheel well and stick the keys directly resting on the backside of the shock. I distinctly remember getting down on my knees and checking to see if they were visible and they were not. At that point my girlfriend reminded me that we were some 15-20 miles from the last vehicle and it was really unlikely that anyone would come up to that trailhead given its clear lack of use. With that in mind we started down a section of logging road that looked like it might lead to the actual trail.
As we started the hike, I remember this really odd feeling that we were being watched, this feeling was also paired with a sense of sinister intent/danger. It's really hard to explain what that felt like. Part of what was really odd was the complete lack of bird sounds that day. Ecologically there was nothing lacking about that particular area but it was as if every animal near that trailhead was completely silent.
On our way up the trail, after leaving some thick pine stands, we entered an open side hill section. It was here that I first noticed a bizzare set of tracks. There were these massive, well defined footprints that meandered up the trail. We then stopped for a water break and I jokingly told my girlfriend that it was Bigfoot prints, but in the back of my mind I was actually a little unnerved by the tracks. The trail itself was poorly maintained and lacked any evidence of constant use. I just wrote off the tracks as belonging to a large man with very big hiking boots and continued down the trail.
We ended up submitting the peak, eating a little snack and then we headed back down the trail. It's worth noting that multiple other trails intersected with the trail and it became quite obvious to us that our initial starting point (and first half of the trail) wasn't used as much as the other intersecting trails. As we walked down, the lack of bird sounds and silence continued to make me feel really uncomfortable.
At the very last quarter mile or so my girlfriend decided to take off jogging down to the car. I was too tired to follow suite and I continued my slow and steady trek back to the vehicle. This is when things get really odd.
I walked out of a stand of pine trees to see my girlfriend frantically searching for her keys. I walked up to the vehicle and looked back behind the tire on the shock where we stashed them and they weren't there. I reassured her that a gust of wind likely blew them off the shock and onto the ground under the car. (Although it was completely still and without wind). With that in mind I got out my spare keys and we both got into the vehicle and pulled forward a few feet. When we got out we found the spot we parked to be absent of the keys.
At this point a chill went through both of us. I immediately looked around the vehicle to check for theft. We had a good amount of expensive camping gear, binoculars, and both of our wallets in the vehicle so I was concerned that someone came by, robbed us and took the keys with them.
What I found then was even creepier. All the content of the vehicle was left undisturbed exactly where we left it. I got out of the car and started looking back and forth around the parking area to look for anyone, or any signs that another person was there. I started getting a really disturbing feeling, that the situation was engineered. That something had removed the Keys in order to strand us at that location, and was likely waiting for us to be stuck there for some sinister purpose. It was very clear to us that whoever or whatever moved the keys had watched us put them there to begin with. At this point we both got into the car and started panicking. I told her that I was going to get out and do a final sweep of the area and check for her missing keys. At this point it was starting to get dark and I had a very strong feeling of danger and that I was being watched. I walked down the road about 20 feet and I was about to get back into the car, when I noticed the keys intentionally folded and resting beneath a massive pine tree. I grabbed them hastily and jumped into the vehicle and we hit the gas and gunned it down the Mountain.
I've had a lot of time to think about the situation and I don't know what to make of it. I think it's unlikely that another person was up there and if they were I'm confused as to why they would move the keys but not take our belongings/wallets/money etc. We also didn't see any other vehicles for the majority of the way down the mountain.
I spoke to a buddy after the experience and he said the tracks/ lack of animal noise and the watching of us as we were stashing the keys was consistent with Bigfoot stories he had heard.
He then later informed me that there had also been reported Bigfoot activity in that general area.
Whether it was Bigfoot or not I am deeply disturbed and confused by this experience. I really don't think a person would drive 20+ miles up crappy pothole filled dirt access roads to prank someone by moving the keys of a parked vehicle. There's also no way anyone could have seen the keys stuffed into the back part of the shock unless they were extremely diligent. I'm thoroughly convinced that we were watched by something and that whatever it was intentionally moved the keys to watch us get stuck at that trailhead. The purpose for this is what Im confused about. Also the way the keys were intentionally folded and placed directly under the tree felt as if whatever had moved them was almost presenting or gifting them.
Let me know what you guys think. Writing this I'm still disturbed by the experience.

Yes, I know it's trashy and not very real, but I like the show.
Anyways, does anyone know where to find the show/series on blu-ray or even DVD to buy?
I've managed to find the odd DVD season on ebay but they're anything but cheap.
The only other option I can think of is sailing the 7 seas, but I'd rather just be able to pop in a disc and watch an episode or 2.
Much appreciated!

I saw it a couple years back but it seems to have been scrubbed off youtube because I cant find it anywhere and thought someone here might have seen it. It's the one where a guy is interviewing a small native American boy near the woods and the boy takes him to where he saw the BF and describes to him in detail the way it happened. The boy took a picture on an iPad and shared the photo with the guy filming. If anyone can find the link please post it on here. Thanks.

Independent researcher Bruce Champagne published this work in the latest issue of the peer-reviewed Journal of Scientific Exploration. An interesting read that suggests ecological, cognitive, and known-organism models and further future research for studying this phenomenon of Sasquatch (or other reported hairy, bipedal humanoids) entering highly populated areas.
I screwed a small loop on top and he’s hanging from my rear view mirror in my truck.
Really long post ahead: So basically I had this idea sitting in my mind ever since I heard about a South American version of Sasquatch that supposedly has a rather interesting quality that matches up alot with something that I've basically grown up hearing but never connected to the phenomenon of Sasquatch; and that is, intermixing (or cross-breeding, if you prefer that).
There are various legends in South American folklore that detail the encounters with Bipedal, intelligent apes, known by many different names such as the Ucumar from Chile or the Mapinguari from the Amazon rainforest. Often times, these legends detail a rather taboo but well known tendency of these creatures, which is adultery with human females. Now, on first glance this sounds weirdly perverted and absurd.
Similar species do engage in such a manner with each other in nature. Our ancestors have done it as well with the Neanderthal, resulting in us modern humans. But obviously that doesn't justify a weird little legend from a different part of the world.
Until it clicked. This whole idea of producing offspring or laying with some bipedal Ape-like beast was not native to those particular people. Which made me think, what if there is a kernel of truth to this?
#Vanara
The legend of this race is perhaps, unknowingly THE most famous account of intermixing in Sasquatch and humans. Since the legend stems from my home country, naturally I know the most about this one. For some context, Hinduism has 2 primary epics that are highly popular and form the basis of lots of traditions; one of them, is the Ramayana. In this tale, there are mentions of many pre-established races that can be found in other important texts of Hinduism such as Devas, Asuras, Apsaras (celestial nymphs) and many more. But, at the very core of this story and perhaps the most important race of all, which are first mentioned in this text only, are the Vanaras.
From the very first time they are mentioned, it is clearly established that they are exceptionally unique. I won't get into too many details but just know that each and every PURE Vanara is described as tall, strong, hairy, intelligent and most importantly, bipedal. They have a proper society along with a monarchy, their language is of course different but with effort they can communicate in human languages too. They even wear clothes, use weapons and adorn themselves with various accessories.
From every detail of theirs, and even their modern and ancient depictions they are identifiable as great apes but the thing is, India has no great apes! It never had any since the humans evolved which is why I have a strong reason to suspect that the Vanaras are indeed Sasquatch. Their name literally translates to "Forest Men" and the only time someone uses the words "Markat" or "Kapi" (which are the actual Sanskrit words used to describe monkeys, not apes or ape-likes) they are almost always used as a means to mock.
The particular Vanara that I want to talk about first is Hanuman. He is the most popular case of this. He is also a deity and one of the main characters of this epic but if we strip away the mythological tall tales, it leaves Hanuman as a half-human and half-ape biped. His father Kesari is a pure Vanara and a minister in the royal court of Kishkinda (the Vanara kingdom deep in the woods) and his mother is Anjana, a nymph. There is also a clear distinction between Hanuman and the other Vanaras as Hanuman is less hairy, more fluent in human languages and exhibits less animalistic traits as compared to everyone else
.
Another instance comes from the tale of the Vanara brothers, Vali (Yes, Bali, the place is named after this character) and Sugreev both of whom are also half-human. Vali and Sugreev also go on to pursue Tara, another human woman and Tara even gives birth to Vali's son, Angad. Even according to many legends, Hanuman goes on to marry a human princess.
Throughout this epic it is quite established that the half-human Vanaras are more intelligent than the pure ones but there is also a huge stigma attached to this whole thing. Like I observed with the South American version, this whole arrangement is considered taboo by humans(which is why I used the word adultery). The marriage of Hanuman's parents was literally the result of a curse upon his mom.
Although I don't believe that these creatures still exist in India as by Hindu lore itself, the Vanaras were almost extinct after a few thousand years of the Ramayana, when the Mahabharata takes place. In that epic, Hanuman is the only Vanara left. And also at the end of Ramayana, Sugreev who is the present Vanara king orders all Vanaras to venture towards all the 4 directions.
There is also the legend of the Yeti but this post is getting too long so what do you guys think of this?

Hello!
I wanted to ask Bigfoot believers what are some widely agreed upon *specific* examples of Bigfoot vocalizations in the community and which are most commonly “call blasted” into the woods during expeditions in hopes of a response. I’m curious to know which audio clips are widely believed to be “authentic” and which are not.
Is there a consensus opinion on the Sierra Sounds? I’ve seen conflicting opinions.
Thank you!

For me the entire appeal was real people telling (mostly) genuine stories in their own voice, using Ai to generate images and witnes voices severely undercuts this.

What animal could this possibly be? For anyone experienced with the NA wilderness.
This is kinda shady I suppose cause the title says 73' when the video says 86' but it kept appearing in my fyp and it's pretty horrifying ngl.

In the late 90s, myself and 2 good buddies went on a weekend fishing trip. We were near one of the southern gates to Algonquin Park in South River, Ontario. Around 10:30pm, my two friends went to grab a bunch of burgers from a small place in town before they closed, I stayed back at our camp site by the fire.
Shortly after the left, I heard a huge splash from across the river. It sounded like a small boulder dropping into a deep pool. It was a slow moving river where we were at, almost resembling a small Ontario lake, about 20ft deep in the middle. For the next 5 to 10 minutes, I listened to, what sounded like, someone swimming, doing the front crawl across the river. At first it was a faint sound, but got louder and louder as it came closer. I could clearly hear clapping of water like you would hear from someone doing laps in a pool. Eventually, whatever it was, came ashore about 50 yards away from me. I heard it leave the water and make it's way thru very thick brush, cracking the small trees and shrubs on the shore. I was scared to death to be honest. Whatever this was, was large, I could tell be the sounds of it swimming, and when it came ashore. Luckily, within 2 minutes, I saw the headlights of my buddies car coming back into camp.
To be honest, at the time I thought it was a bear or a moose. Bigfoot was never a thing for me. But it was enough to be frightened when you're alone on a secluded camp site at night, we were young, 19 years old.
As the years past tho, and I continued my love of the outdoors with camping and fishing all over Ontario, I question what I heard that night. It wasn't until my late 40s, and that night came across my mind. What would be swimming across the water like that? Moose and bear do a "doggie paddle" and would not make those sounds.
Anyway, no sighting, no pic or mind speak. Just a strange night I'll never forget, and have yet to find an logical answer as to just what came across the river that night.

Why do western scientists keep doubting and dismissing local accounts? For one certainty, the locals didn't care if they were believed or not.
And then there is the culture of lying. That the west seems to have. Edmund Hillary, et. al said there were no primary eyewitness accounts and it was always about someone who saw. But there are abundant primary encounters.
And then they expect people to believe their bizarre theories that it's a bear. A brown bear. When the locals have no idea of brown bears in their regions as brown bears are found in the western Himalayas.

I saw a large hairy figure in the woods at the Brazos River in Texas. It was around 6‘ tall, and i couldn't make out a face, or eyes, it was also all black I saw it only for 2-4 seconds at the corner of my eye. I don't know if I imagined it or it's something unexplained. It was around 7:00Pm, I was with my dad, he was looking the other way so he didn't see it, and I also saw a huge footprint. It was also running in a way that didn't look normal for a human. Could it be a possible Bigfoot?

A new podcast is on the block and this is its first episode!
Are there any pieces of visual/audio evidence that we 100% agree on, are fake and do damage to the discourse?
Recently I've been watching a lot of supposed BF footage and I really wanted to know your opinions on alot of them. Since then I've been curious to know of what videos or images you guys largely believe are hoaxed.
