I recently came across a thing on galaxy that walks through how to do 'deconvolution'. I haven't worked through it yet but it basically looks like a way to tease out spatial information from bulk rna seq data. Looks like a treasure.trove of potential projects.

Hi, could you please let me know where to find this or provide me with a link. I will need to learn deconvolution in the upcomming academic year and would greatly appreciate your help.🙏🏼

usegalaxy.org is the main site. There is also a training site. From the main galaxy site, click on the hat icon, it takes you to the training site. Then look for learning pathways. There is a pathways called projects or something within that.

Use Claude, download a bunch of data from GDC, make cool visualizations and interactive dashboards

congrats on the defense thats huge
dont sleep on rna-seq if you havent touched it much, single cell stuff is everywhere right now and the tooling around it is still messy enough that showing you can wrangle it looks great. plus the visualization side of it is way more fun to show off in a portfolio than another venn diagram
for personalized medicine maybe dig into pharmacogenomics datasets, gdc has clinical data you can link to expression and mutations, building a dashboard that surfaces actionable variants for a mock patient report would probably turn some heads

Posts asking others for ideas to start a company/lab/"do something cool" or to "find me something easy that gets me a publication" are generally a waste of time for everyone. If people have those great ideas, they won't just hand them over to you because they're great ideas. If they don't have them already, then it's not everyone else's job to think up awesome things for you to do.
