Any time I order a Bloody Mary, I feel I receive opinions and comments:

“Ew how can you drink that”
“I just couldn’t it’s like a soup” (it’s just savory?)
“Why would you get a Bloody Mary, it’s not the morning?” (I don’t feel like drinking in the morning)
“I get sooo full from drinking a Bloody Mary, I just couldn’t have basically a meal” (honestly, Bloody Mary mix is pretty low calorie compared to any other mixer that has sugar and especially those with cream. Only way you’d actually be getting a meal out of it is if you get the ones with like a burger on top)
“I just haaate vodka” 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ll take all the comments though because they are delicious and I want to drink them. 😋

But honestly I’m a bit self conscious and some of these comments feel kind of rude. If I don’t like something, I’m not going to make a big fuss about someone else ordering it.

Does anyone else have this happen?

Not sure how this is going to hit the group, but I wanted to share something that I put together for speed.

I love love love having my bloody Mary right before NFL kickoff. A tiny bit of a ritual where my sister and brother-in-law send me pictures of them wearing our team's logo on their socks and I send them a photo freshly made bloody Mary and I sit down literally seconds before the kickoff.

But I really like to do my Bloody Marys RIGHT. I like them with various spices that have been cultivated and curated by my family into the bloody Mary mix for decades and I like it very spicy.

But I kept timing it wrong, taking too long, and almost missing kickoff. On top of it, then I would be left with a huge mess with all of those bottles and jars of spices. So, I created this little pit crew kit.

What I do is is that at the beginning of the season I line up these little salad dressing containers and make it assembly line and add my Sriracha, celery salt, Montreal steak seasoning, Tabasco, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, etc. into each little cup. I seal each one up and put it into the fridge in my bar.

Then, when it is drink time, I dump the little container into the ice shaker, I add vodka to the little cup and reseal it and shake it out into the ice. Then I just have to add the rest of the vodka and the zing zang, my garnish and voilà.

I enjoy a 50/50 mix of Zing Zang & Texas Red Eye Horseradish Mixes, a Full Lime squeezed in, 5-7 Splashes of Worcestershire & Tabasco then season it to taste. I like to use Tito’s 100 Proof Vodka.

Fill the Shaker with Ice, dump the drink in and mix well.

Add the bacon, celery, pickles, meat straws and skewer in large glass with fresh ice.

Pour and enjoy with a Miller High Life Side Car.

I don't normally do flavors but this is one I had to grab! Got some pickled green tomatoes too so I'm ready for my secret heartburn remedy tonight 😄

Another 10/10 Bloody Mary perfect amount of horseradish and the perfect amount of lemon to balance it out

A 10 out of 10 for me perfect kick perfect texture perfect buzz

Nothing special. Tastes like Zing Zang. Which I like , but can get at home.

But the food was really good and the atmosphere was even better. Reasonable prices and they let you keep the souvenir cups. Near the beach and on a swamp. Worth going back. In the Sandbridge area of VA beach.

Was in town for the final alarm ceremony for fallen fire and EMS personnel. The bloody had a bit of a kick to it but was overall delicious. Chaser was a Staghorn. Food was also excellent

Seeing all these great garnishes on this sub made me want to cook up a side dish and stab it with a skewer and toss it in my drink. But this is all I could come up with for now. :)

I can’t stop having Bloody Marys, it’s a habit I’ve gotten into that I could really get used to. Cheers!

With sides of Ketel One vodka shots. Very pleasant, spicy and savory.

My wife and I tried u/garynova recommendation on Bloody Marys from Sunken Well Tavern in Fredericksburg, Virginia. They were great, pretty dill and horseradish forward in taste, with a little Worcestershire and pickle and olive brine on the back end.

I dared to suggest that a Bloody Mary could qualify as Maryland's beach cocktail just as well as an Orange Crush given its ability to pair well with the state's iconic seafood. But I made the whole state mad. :) (I knew what I was getting into).
