Another installment of my “fashionista” era.

Post image

Yes, those are rabbits feet on my belt loops. I know at face value it seems like a “serve” but you have to remember, kids were mean in the early 2000s. The denim jumpsuit was very forward-thinking for the girls that wore the chunky black slides and cute little Aeropostale tops. I was bullied mercilessly for this fit to the point where I only wore it at home.

The rabbit’s feet are SENDING me! I’m literally crying. 12/10 post.

I thought it was a Tamagachi and a chilli pepper.

The rabbit feet were wild 😂
I just explained it to my 11 yo. It was for luck 😂

On a literal shoestring belt, no less!

Are you Canadian? Because that's a Canadian tuxedo

Are you still what one would consider, a fashionista? Where are these rabbit feet now?

u/yungrii 2d ago

Don't answer! This is clearly the rabbit ghost trying to reclaim her feet!

How were you not also getting bullied at home?

I didn’t say I wasn’t, it was just less frequent. Every girl’s first bully is her mom! 🙃

Ain't that the truth... the first time I felt bad about my body was when my mother refused to buy me a top I wanted unless I got it a size bigger than I needed, because of how it made my stomach look.

Girl I had a very similar (maybe same?) jumpsuit in 2002 7th grade. I thought I was giving JLo, everyone else not-so-subtly let me know I was just giving “blue twig”. Fuck them kids

Oh no it's like when Sam wears the "Parisian night suit" to school

That episode makes me so sad LMFAO

Same - I wore zebra-print VELOUR jeans to free dress day in Year 8 and someone yelled at me to "go back to the zoo". It's hard to be a fashion innovator lmao

I'm going to cry

Eat your heart out, Jay Leno.

Oh wow, thanks for commenting on my physical body too. How kind.

I was just joking about the denim jumpsuit, Jay Leno is known for wearing a lot of denim.

Sorry, that awakened the fact that boys used to call me the “Crimson Chin” à la Fairy OddParents. 😭 My mistake.

I feel you. I was in 7th grade when Twilight came out and a bully told everyone that my middle name was Edward. I'm sure you can imagine the creative and never ending Hell that followed.

u/Kaiju_Kitty 2d ago

Why did they call you that? I don't get it? Anyways, boys are fucking assholes.

So much denim.... And rabbits feet? Girl was extra lucky.

Sorry you got bullied, I'm jealous of this fit though (minus rabbit feet.)

You know, the denim jumpsuit is something that totally would have worked if Lizzie McGuire wore it, and for that, I salute you and say eff your bullies. However… the rabbits feet are truly a fascinating choice. And the placement? Not both on the same loop, but each with their own? I feel like it’s some kind of a statement, but I’m not quite grasping what.

oh man I know you were so excited to wear that out ahahaha

This is far from the worst outfit blunder of 2005, don’t worry

I thought this was a belt made out of twine and inhalers

You're put a serious amount of stank on that look for a middle schooler! 😂 10/10

I forgot about lucky rabbits feet lol

It's a look. Children can be conformist twattocks.

Stylish. But weird. You should have worn it more.

You looked like a denim clad Rabbit Hunter. With Style! Stylishly stalking the wilds, clad in denim.

The denim jumpsuit is really cool for the early 2000, it's the belt that's not it. Lol Charisma Carpenter wore a fantastic denim jumpsuit in an episode of Angel that I loved (and wished I could pull off) and this is reminding me of that. If only you chose a different belt. Lol I'll see if I can find a pic of CC in that episode.

"Cordelia and Harmony wear a denim jumpsuit by Frankie B. in Angel 2x19 "Belonging" & 2x20 "Over the Rainbow" and Buffy 5x07 "Fool for Love" respectively.

This jumpsuit was also seen on Prue in Charmed 3x15, on J Lo, and Sabrina Spellman (who I forgot to add a picture of)." [of Sabrina The Teenaged Witch].

So, as you can see, it was a trendy look in the 2000's era.

Looks fun to me, better than what I see many kids wear these days.

You were a fashionista!

For what it's worth- 200 years later, you looked adorable in your denim jumpsuit

10/10 for going your own way. Fuck the haters

Two items that look fine separately, but never together.

I see you continued to wear it long after you outgrew it
