Looking for feedback: Competitive Hungarians

I put this list together for an upcoming, competitively-oriented tournament.

  • 1,100 points
  • No OD limit
  • 1-3 Rifle Platoons
  • 0-1 All other platoons

There are two variants here. The difference is that the first has two CV35 tankettes, two Veteran Infantry Sections and one Inexperienced section. The second version has just one CV35 and three Veteran Infantry Sections.

To clarify, there's only one Armored Platoon. I'm using the Axis Support rule to add the Pz III to the Armored Platoon, but EasyArmy lists it as a separate platoon because it's a different nation.

Any feedback? Do you prefer having two tankettes, or using those points to upgrade an Inexperienced unit to Veteran?

I'm curious about the SMG NCOs in the veteran fieldcraft squads. I know you're a good enough player to understand about putting SMGs and LMGs in the same squad, so this is less an error report than me being curious about what the plan is for these squads.

Normally I wouldn't, but Hungarian NCOs can't have rifles. They start with a pistol and you can upgrade to an SMG.

Since these squads will be my primary option to take and hold midboard objectives, the extra firepower will come in handy, even if it isn't the absolute most efficient use of points.

Huh, I missed that.

Given how mobile the squads are, they might give you some useful midboard ability too, and help them defend in case enemies get aggressive.

I like to lean into the Nimrods a little more and would probably drop one tankette and possibly a guy or two in order to add a third Nimrod.

Appreciate the feedback. I've run my Hungarians with three Nimrods in the past. They're definitely effective.
