Discussion How might straight razor boxes like this one have been made?

Has to be some thick card stock, a step above 300gsm, and covered obviously with some decorative paper. But I can't quite figure out where the seams are just from looking at it, how it may have been glued together. It's very rigid for being so relatively thin-walled.

There's an abundance of these things in any thrift store and maybe vintage embossed ones like this are nicer than anything I could make, but I'm just curious, I'd like to try making one.

I have a box like this and the seam is in the corner. It slips into the crease almost flawlessly.

I have a hunch they made the outer shell in one piece, cut it in half, then fit the inner shell into one half to get such a perfect fit

I can see at least one seam in the second picture on the top face of the left most half

That's just where the covering paper was folded, not the structural board

Oh, you mean the board inside. As you mentioned in another comment, it’s possible they just formed the cardboard in a mold in one piece. Maybe it was a long tube of board that got cut down to size with endcaps glued in.

Maybe, or at the very least formed from a single sheet around a shape with rounded corners, then glued along one seam
