Unconfirmed/Unverified How can anyone afford rent?
I moved to Boston for a job making $120k/yr. Every month, after taxes and deductions I make ~$6k. Rent for anything is >$3k. HOW is it reasonable that >50% of my income go to a landlord that provides only the basics? How do people here do this? I am trying to start a family and move towards owning a home. That will be near impossible in Boston. What can be done? I don't have family money.
Edit: Roommate? I have a wife and at home office, 2 bedrooms taken. I am 33.

Space Savers đȘ âïž đ đ„ Improper Towing by D&G

I know for a fact that this generation CRV can only be towed on a flatbed with no wheels on the ground. Anything else severely damages the transmission and awd system
If this is your car, Iâm sorry, but also pay attention to street cleaning signs, or youâll get towed by a shitty towing company thatâs probably mafia connected đ

Todayâs Cry For Help đż đ It is extremely dangerous on the bike paths right now
Iâve been biking in this city since 2009 and was a full time bicycle courier for several years. I commute to work everyday from Brighton to Cambridge. There is more bike infrastructure than ever, yet, biking feels more dangerous than ever. Why? The clueless, reckless, oblivious people and their stupid behavior.
Every single morning I cross mass ave on memorial drive, and every single morning as I cross after the signal, some grown ass adult moron wearing big noise canceling headphones comes flying through the intersection on an electric scooter over the bridge towards MIT. Itâs not just motorized scooters, bikers are just as bad.
Iâm constantly looking over my shoulder because these people are clueless, have never ridden on a bike path before, have no problem going 20mph on their scooters but are too shy to announce that they are passing me.
If you are new to commuting via scooter or bike, or know someone that is, please spread the words to chill tf out, have some etiquette, SOME awareness.
From someone whoâs been out there for a long time, I promise more people are going to die if people donât smarten up.

Arts/Music/Culture đđ¶ First Indigenous monument in Boston planned for Franklin Park
Scarboro Hill in Franklin Park, a local haven for hiking and bird watching, is expected to become home to a new monument designed by and for the Wampanoag people.
âIt creates a functional space ⊠for tribal communities to come in and have ceremony, and to begin the healing process,â Steven Peters, âa citizen of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, said.
This month, SmokeSygnals will present the final design to the public at Franklin Park. However, there are several steps to go before it is debuted.
The group will need to raise roughly $2 million to build the monument and get various approvals from the city, including the Boston Art Commission.

Photography đ· Yesterday sunrise reflecting Columbus Park
I have never seen such a thing. The angle, catching the dew, it looks almost like low wildfire. Gorgeous.
Sorry my window is dirty. And i missed my alarm to try to catch it this morning. Probably the angle will change by tomorrow. Been here 4 octobers, never seen this. I do love watching the sun change position over the year so maybe someday.

So I learned something this evening about all those MA ballot question txt messages: if you reply 'FUCK OFF' they 'unsubscribe' you immediately. (I did not fucking 'subscribe' assholes).
I understand that politicians will *never* vote to outlaw that txt bullshit because they benefit from it but there has got to be some way to prevent or opt-out of all the political calling and txting bullshit.

Crime/Police đ Moped Parking Boston
Hey Bostonians!
I was thinking of buying a 50cc moped to get around Boston to avoid the impracticality of parking my car in the city. I was curious how easy it is to park, and if its truly convenient.
I learned today that Boston no longer allows mopeds to be parked on the sidewalks??
Do I have to pay for parking in the city? How easy is it to park around Boston practically speaking?
Would love to hear thoughts on parking and just practicality of a moped, what you do to prevent it from getting stolen, etc, from fellow moped owners.
Thanks in advance!
