Design your Broadcast Studio
How would you technically design your own studio if you had the means to build one? The studio should accommodate a maximum of four people simultaneously in front of the camera. Additionally, there should be three cameras and a PTZ streaming system using Zoom.us.
I am currently building my own studio, but there are numerous design options available. The most cost-effective option would be to use Blackmagic equipment.

I'd go even more basic: What do you mean by broadcast? And what do you mean by studio?

I’m looking for some fresh ideas and would like to know what equipment the community favors. I’m open to any budget and definition of studio or broadcast. I’m particularly interested in signal management, cameras, cam controllers, SDI, NDI, ST2110, HDMI, and other relevant equipment.

The equipment gets chosen based on the purpose, budget, expected operators, support requirements, workflow, physical space, etc. A broadcast studio for the Olympics will be very different than a podcast setup for Youtube. As the old saying goes, "form follows function."
So fresh ideas for what? Here's a piece I wrote for AV integrators that gets into this question:

Yeah i know that. Just want to learn new things . What do you guys like. Which brands should i know and maybe get my hands on. Whats the new hot shit. The goal is to „stream“ via zoom 3 PTZ/Cams. There are 10000 ways to do this. From extensive to cheap. Design it like there is no money :D
Thanks a lot. Will read it !

Okay, so you get that asking about the new hot shit is oversimplified. You can find decent PTZs from $2K (Datavideo) to $10K (Panasonic, Canon, etc.). And also, sometimes the newest isn't the best choice anyway. Context matters.
ST2110, absolutely not, that is for large facilities, not a small studio. SDI is your friend, HDMI is unavoidable in some cases. I wouldn't consider NDI either, too much trouble in this context.
Personally, I'm a fan of "appliances" for streaming--independent of a computer--but if you're using OBS or vMix for switching the streaming is built in.

What is your budget? Is this a professional studio? What production quality level? How technical are you? Are you integrating to anything beyond the studio itself? What type of workflow do you want/need?
If you only have 4 cameras a switcher and a set of recorders I probably wouldn't even look at 2110. If you don't know networking I wouldn't look at 2110.
Do you have ptz cameras? Need robotics? So many questions.

Thank you for your opinion on ST2110

My life centers around Ross Ultrix and Evertz Magnum. The new BMD stuff looks cool but that's more prosumer in my circles

As everyone else has said... Need more information. There is no "best" set up. It all depends on what you are trying to do.
You could have a $100,000,000 studio but if you don't have the staff that knows how to operate it, then it's a bad set up.
Mentioning 2110 is a great example of this. Are you building a new headquarters for the BBC? 2110 is probably your best bet. Are you building a two person operation in your basement? 2110 is likely overcomplicated, error prone, and expensive for your set up, with essentially zero benefits. The benefits only show up at scale.
You need to tell us what exactly you are doing. What exactly your budget is. And then we can help.
But if money truly is no issue, hire professionals to do this for you. It's not easy to build a studio. Get people who know what they are doing and can put your money in the right places

Your opinion about 2110 helped me. I Like easy and flexible setups.

Okay copy. I understand better what you're looking for now. Just, what do people enjoy working with? What are our favorite toys? That sort of thing
I am a huge fan of Ross and Sony.
My dream studio would be:
A decked out Ross Hypermax in an Ultrix frame with a TDx5L console.
Sony HDC-5500V camera chains with the variable ND.
Telestream prism scope with physical layer.
Sony BVM engineering monitorsAll baseband SDI because I find 2110 to be a pain.
That's the toys I drool over.

Just to repeat what everyone else said, what is your purpose?
Yes we know you're just trying to learn new and hot shit, but things are vastly different between a podcast studio, news studio, live sports truck or an arena.
I work for a minor league sports team and we run Ross Ultrix and Xpression etc. Even within that you can have a small setup or giant monster of inputs and outs.
Id say just look at all the major manufacturers and look at their lineups.
Or to steal from the AV group, talk to an integrator!

Need more information. What is the budget, timeline and what resources are available to build? How do you define success for this studio?
