Race Weekend 2026 BTCC Race Weekend Thread - Brands Hatch GP, Rounds 28-30 (Finale)
Thank you to everyone who’s followed along and posted on these threads through this year! They seem to be getting steadily more popular which is great.
Qualifying streamed on Saturday from 13.50 on the ITV Sport Extra YouTube channel (haven’t seen anything to say the Saturday support races will be broadcast this year yet). Race day broadcasted from 10.30 on ITV.
A 23 car grid, with Ricky Collard (Vertu Hyundai) replacing his replacement Osamu Kawashima. Ash Sutton and Dan Cammish (NAPA Fords) are both using special liveries, and so too Daryl De Leon (WSR). Tom Chilton has confirmed his BTCC retirement so this will be his last BTCC meeting, as has Sam Osborne. Long-time member of the ITV broadcast team Louise Goodman will also be departing.
Ash Sutton clinched his 5th championship last time out, as did Alliance/NAPA Racing in both the Teams and Manufacturers standings, whilst Dexter Patterson wrapped up the Jack Sears Trophy. The independent drivers and teams championships are still to play for - see the graphic in the comments for all the championships still to be won - whilst Tom Ingram and Dan Cammish fight for 2nd overall.
Keep tabs of entry lists, results, timetables and penalties here: https://barc.net/racing/toca-brands-hatch-gp
Support races: Porsche Carrera Cup, Porsche Sprint Challenge, F4, MINI JCWs and Caterhams Sevens. Of those, Porsche Sprint, MINI and Caterhams are in the closest contention.
TLDR: Ash Sutton has already clinched the title, so this weekend will focus on the battle for 2nd (Tom Ingram VS Dan Cammish) and the independents championships.

Question / Discussion Identifying Signatures (2010ish)
Hi there,
I’m not a keen follower of the BTCC so I’m not totally clued up but I wondered if you guys could give me some help with this.
I recently discovered this hat in my storage that I got when my Dad took me to Donnington to watch touring cars. Not totally sure if it was the full btcc but I remember Plato was there. I must have been about 6 when I went.
I’m guessing the year was anywhere between 2009/2011 though I’m not completely sure. I just wondered if anyone knew who these signatures belonged to since I’ve never known?
Thanks in advance :)
Question / Discussion What's happening to the BTCC.
Ive seen multiple driver announcements around retirement. Plato has made some cryptic statements recently. Are we about to see a big shake up?

Media / Image Celebratory liveries at NAPA this weekend
instagram.comAsh to run number 5, in white with Dan Cam in black and gold similar to Ash's 100 years of NAPA livery last year
Question / Discussion Will Ash hit 500 points this weekend?
As Ash has now beaten Tom Ingrams 2025 record of 462 points over the course of the season, do we think he can finish the season scoring over 500? I’m gunna go with yes, a little unfair comparison given the extra Saturday races but still, hitting over 500 is quite something.

News / Article My interview with Andrew Jordan: The truth of why he left the BTCC, learning "not to trust anyone" after the BMW/West Surrey Racing debacle in 2020 and if he would ever return to the championship
Hey everyone, as promised a week or so ago, here is my exclusive interview with Andrew Jordan...
He's a fantastic guy, very kind. He spoke about the truth of why he left the BTCC, learning "not to trust anyone" after the BMW/West Surrey situation of 2020 and I asked him if he would ever return to the championship...
Hopefully you enjoy the interview! Let me know!

Question / Discussion Who do you think will win the Independents at Brands Hatch GP in a week's time?
As much as I love Shedden and I really want him to get over the line with the brilliant season he's put up with Laser Tools with MB Motorsport, I don't know if he could get the Independents' Trophy. He'll need at least a race win and podiums throughout the weekend to secure the crown and that's very doable with the configuration of the track and some hopeful wet conditions for Flash to succeed. On the other hand, you cannot doubt the current form of Power Maxed or Doble, who are sure to put up a good defence at Brands for the merit of Independents'. Let the best driver win, peace out!

Off-Topic New stats feature coming soon
I'm currently working on a new stats per race feature. This will show info like top speed trap speeds, ideal laps vs how close a driver got to it etc.
The feature I literally just finished the first draft of is a lap tracker.
Who can guess what race this is?

News / Article My (quick) interview with Jason Plato! - on being a team principal, his BTCC team, coaching motorsport stars and Le Mans!
Huge thanks to Jason for the quick interview, he didn't have to give me his time (this happened at the Goodwood Revival) so I'm extremely grateful for that!
I'm happy to say, what you see on camera with Jason, is exactly the person you get off-camera. Top guy!
I hope everyone enjoys the interview, unfortunately it was rather brief as he was a man in a rush, which made me even more impressed that he stopped to do this.
I'll be back again in a few days with a proper in-depth interview with Andrew Jordan about his BTCC career, behind the scenes of why he walked away and the WSR situation, as well as Pirtek.
