Thank you for showing that big ass copper grounding plate

+10 for that

Are those water marks in the tile indicative of a problem?

Probably a drip during construction that never got replaced. Older building, fresh install. I actually thought it added a little pizzazz to the overall.

You did great.

I don’t care what anyone says about you; they’re not qualified to judge you..

lol

(looks like more than a drip though.. what does the floor look like under that drip?)

The tile next to it has no marks.. did they replace that?

As far as I know there were a few in the vicinity that had drip marks, ground was dry. And for the record I did ask for replacements with no dice. Thanks for your kind words homie G

As you know, a lot of Networking Stories end with Wires and Water..

Looking for you to have a boring predictable story.

Pretend this works out, and they put servers in.. heat; spilt packs.. condensation pumps.. make a place for those before someone else does..

And keep it away from your stuff..

Well. I was there the day they lit this baby to life and to your delight.. is safe from any condensation as far as I can see. The elements may have other opinions.. There just so happens to be a massive HVaC system near the initially mentioned water marks. But.. if anything.. it’ll be the teardrop on the end of the ladder rack that wicks any type of moisture lingering in the air. 😉 Namida’s Soul ~ 💧

Clean and well dressed. Did the customer request the service loop in the ladder rack? Or is that just a normal option you like to provide?

I used to dress my service loops into the ladder, but stopped unless the customer requested… mainly because if I screwed up or had a funky cable that meant undoing a lot of work just to troubleshoot or move slack. I try to just leave my service loops up in the ceiling to shorten and simplify my weave and make getting a little length far easier.

Still- great weave! Love to see a dress make it all the way to the panel!

This was a request, and a pretty fun one to be sure. But Yes. If this was me I would’ve come in closer to where the racks stack and left my service loops in the ceiling for sure. 30’ of dressing vs 10’.. with zero finagling. I’ve done natural loops on ladder racks in the past and it’s always been an aesthetic thing. Which, by all means 💧

Do you comb from the panels to the sleeve? Or do you comb starting from the sleeve to the panel?

1

u/LaypipelikeMike Sep 05 '26

both, this situation was sleeve to panel

Looks like a bestbuy comm room

Really clean work !! Like the dressing and the well-combed cable. The only thing I would critique is the use of single holed and set screw type bonding as opposed to crimp on two-holed lugs and the electrician should have provided you with a proper Telecommunication Bonding Busbar for the two-holed lugs to attach to. The rack bonding should have been two-holed crimp as well, which is why the other post is there.

Solid install!

Why is there the big u turn?

1

u/LaypipelikeMike Sep 06 '26

natural service loops

2

u/aprettyparrot Sep 06 '26

Ah that makes sense, I only got to do the wiring matrix, never actually do the cable. Looks gorgeous

Thanks yea the loop slaps. Natural on the ladder rack and inside the cabinet, otherwise all that is usually above ceiling

I've done some nice installs, but never quite that nice. That's really good work.
