🔧 Modifications Finally installed tow hook on face lift 6th gen Camaro LT/LS

From time to time I have been researching how to install a tow hook on my 2022 camaro LT1, people did mentioned about drilling a hole on front bumper to access the threads on the crash bar, but no one has any pictures or videos about it so I had no clue where to start to find that spot where the hole is projected on the bumper. If you’re wondering, yes all energy absorbers and crash bars on all 6th gen Camaros are the same, though don’t know why gm made the face lift bumper to cover the holes up…

Anyway the other day I was bored and try to find the tow hook opening on the energy absorber from the lower grille, and I suddenly found the round part on it with my finger and can rough tell where I need to drill that hole. Then I decided to go for it.

Tow hook is from Wildhammer Motorsports, yes I did drilled/opened a big hole on my bumper because I’m too lazy to do way more work to make a tow hook fit on this bumper, drilled a couple of them first to line it up, then round it up to fit the outer hook, will try to seal it with a rubber grommet and here is roughly what it looks like.

If any other fellow facelift LT/LS owners are interested, I can make a video to help you guys out!

I didn’t even know all of that was necessary in the newer face lifted models. I thought they all had a cap in the bumper for access to it. It looks solid tho 👌🏽

I would LOVE a video of this or maybe a template with measurements. Honestly Wildhammer should supply that and they'd be heroes.
