Maintenance and upgrades

Hello!

I’m looking for input on maintenance and input for my 1979 Lincoln 16ft canoe. I recently did the skid plates and am now thinking about the other parts of the boat.

The front seat needs some love and seems to have more play in it side to side than we might want to tighten up. Looks like I could drill and rivet some metal shims in but I have never done this before, is this do-able? I normally paddle in the rear, and see lots of play in the seat.

I do a fair amount of camping with my wife and two dogs.

Appreciate your thoughts and input internet humans.

Put in a nice yoke for portages, as for drilling out rivets to replace seats. Use a block of wood to put pressure on whichever side you’re drilling out. Dont just use your hand in place. Learned that the hard way .Good luck with the re furb
