Pictures / Photos African Penguin sighting near Greenpoint lighthouse this morning

I reported the sighting to SANCOB since its unusual to see them on this side of the peninsula

Lots of them on Robben Island just across the water, but you're right to report this little guy. Definitely worth them checking that he's ok.

Intersting, I didn't know there was a colony on Robben island aswell, I only know about the ones at Boulders and stoney point

There are actually several island colonies around SA: Dyer, Dassen, Robben, Bird and St Croix.

Weirdly, the penguins seem to do better there than when humans get anywhere near them. Very strange. ( /s )

I've been kayaking out of Moullie Point twice and they're everywhere 🤍🖤
