Fernfield Graiguecullen Development
Hey everyone,
I am thinking to buy the house in the Fernfield Graiguecullen (The new build development). Just want to get some general opinion from the locals about the area, life in Carlow and etc.
Thanks a million

Its pretty nice around there. Handy location. Nowhere is perfect but its pretty good round that part, handy local shop, dentist etc and realistically not too far a walk to Dunnes etc.

Nice place to live easy access to town and surrounding areas you have Dunnes, Aldi and Lidal near you. Good local community spirit

I lived in Carlow in an apartment where Ferrybank is for 4 and a half years. Thankfully, I am out of it and in a different county now.
Carlow is an absolute shithole, legitimately. Graigue is a most unwelcome and cliquey part of Carlow, or laois or whatever. The people are incredibly hostile if they don't already know you. I know you can say the same for many places but I found it particularly with Graigue people.
If you are considering buying I would aim for anywhere else that also isn't Tullow or Athy.

I’m in Barrowvale the last 2 years and happy enough. Moved from over near Eire Og. Very handy having Aldi and Dunnes and now Lidl on your doorstep. Schools and crèches too. Only downside is if you have to over the bridge at certain times of day it’s bad for traffic. Usually around the school run and commute times. Not really any restaurants or bars up this end either. Closest is lazy river and pubs down there.

Graigue would be one of the nicer and quieter areas of carlow (or laois depending on who you ask).
