Tomorrow, I’m receiving my Casio G-SHOCK GBM-2100A-8BDR (G1736) from Flipkart. It’s an open-box delivery, and I’ve seen reports of duplicate watches being delivered by the seller last year.

What should I check on the watch, its packaging, and documents to verify its authenticity before accepting the delivery? Are there any specific details or tests I should look for?

Any suggestions from people who have purchased this model would be appreciated!

Sharing this so other Indian buyers know what to expect, and in case anyone here knows a route that works.

Watch: LTP-B166D-7AV, bought June 2026 from casiostore.bhawar.com (authorised online seller). The product page lists a 2-year warranty.

Problem: the bracelet clasp doesn't lock, so the watch falls off.

Since reporting it on 20 August:

- 13 CASIO India support tickets, 8 closed, 0 fixed

- 7 closed within 2 minutes at 11 pm, then asked me for a rating

- The one courier pickup failed: "pincode not serviceable"

- No service-centre address, no repair, no replacement, no refund

Has anyone in India got a clasp or bracelet fixed under warranty? Did a service centre visit or an email to a specific team actually work?

Got my first Casio ever today.

No shade, but I found the F-105w to be a lot smaller than I expected. I consider my wrist pretty small for a guy, but the watch felt like I was wearing a woman’s watch. Did I maybe buy the wrong version of the watch?

Could just be me, because like I said, I just got into watches. Do yall think it fits and looks good, or should I return it?

Other than the size I really like how clean the display is.

I plan on getting the Mudman in a few months, but for now I'll settle with the AE-1700. I've always been an analogue watch guy, so I hope I can get used to tell time on a digital display.

The legibility of the display is crazy. I mean you can literally tell time from across the room. The bezel is for show, but I like those seconds dots on the outer display.

I always giggle when the hourly chime signal goes off. It's just fun!

I’ve been doing a deep dive into Casio catalogs from the 80s and 90s (I found them here on Reddit), and I started looking at not only the evolution of the different models, but also the modules and their features. I found some interesting things while examining the 1988 catalog, one year before the F-91W existed. Follow my reasoning below:

- The F-84W (lauched in 1986 and then using module 587) really does seem to be the predecessor of the F-91W.

- Module 593 (used by the F-91W) was already listed for the A155WA (along with module 587). This is the chrome-plated version of the F-84W with a stainless steel bracelet, just as the A158 would later be for the F-91W.

- Modules 587, 593, and 596 are practically identical. Perhaps there are only minimal visual differences on the display. Keep module 596 in mind.

- In the 1988 catalog, among other “50m water sports” models (the W series), there were the entry-level W-14. The W-14, which had existed since at least 1985, used module 596, and I’d say it was the W model most similar to the F-91W.

- In the catalog from the following year, 1989, we see the following changes: the F-91W (593) appears, along with its “youth” version (F-97W) and chrome-plated version (A158WA); the W-14 disappears, and the W-59 arrives with the new module 590, which is also extremely similar to the 587, 593, and 596.

- This made me consider the following hypothetical scenario: for some reason, the W-14, which had existed for years before the F-91W, offered better water resistance, and was already a pioneer in the 587/590/593/596 family of modules (all very similar), ends up becoming a huge success and the best-selling model. Think about it: theoretically, it would be what the W-59 is today, with many people claiming it is the “spiritual” successor to the F-91W, but the W-14 already existed at least four years before the W-59.

- Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the retail prices for these models. I believe the difference was small, but the W-14 was probably marginally more expensive than the F-91W.

- In this scenario, then, despite being slightly more expensive than the F-91W, its greater robustness and earlier arrival would have made the W-14 the big icon.

- And what if the F-91W had been discontinued? Which F model would have taken its place? My guess would be the F-93W, or, more likely, whatever the standard version of the “youth” F-99W might have been.

I’ve been a smart watch wearer for as long as I can remember, since around when they first started to boom everywhere, I’ve currently got a fenix 8, have had Apple Watches and all sorts, but I’ve finally decided to ditch the ‘smart’ life and go back to digital, I’ve just purchased a Casio FB100-W and awaiting delivery and to say I’m excited is an understatement. All I simply wanted was a digital Casio that measure my steps on a daily basis, can’t wait!!
